Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched BTech and PhD programs at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Campus on September 10, 2025. Candidates can apply for these courses through JEE Advanced or CAET, with classes starting in January 2026.

On 10 September 2025, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched new BTech and PhD programmes in Chemical Engineering and Energy & Sustainability at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus. The admission applications are currently closed and the application dates for the upcoming academic session will be announced soon.
The launch event also served as the launch of the Atal Incubation Centre which aims to develop startups in deep tech, AI, clean energy, and healthcare, facilitating India-UAE collaborations.
“The AIC will act as a gateway for Indian startups to access Middle East markets,” said Minister Pradhan during the event. The campus has seen an increase of 400% in enrollment since its inception, with 80 students enrolled in 2025 compared to 20 in 2024.
What are the New Programs at IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi?
IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Campus, inaugurated in September 2024, is a collaborative joint effort between IIT Delhi and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge. The campus is located in Khalifa City and its programs are in engineering and technology, consistent with India’s National Education Policy and UAE’s Vision 2050. Below are the new Programs announced in the event at IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi Campus:

Who Can Apply for IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Programs?
- UG: Any UAE nationals (either graduating from or appearing for grade 12), foreign students (excluding Indian and UAE citizens), and students of Indian origin who have graduated (or are graduating) from grades 8–12 within the last five years in the UAE.
- PG: Applicants must hold either a four-year Bachelor’s degree in engineering/sciences, or a three-year Bachelor’s degree in engineering/sciences plus a two-year Master’s degree (in a similar field). A minimum of 7.5/10 CGPA (75%) and one year of professional experience are also needed. If shortlisted, the candidates will be interviewed by IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi.
- PhD: Applicants must hold a master’s degree with either a 7.5/10 CGPA (75%) or (8.75/10 CGPA (87.5%) for a four-year bachelor's degree in a similar discipline. A minimum of two years of post-qualification work experience is also required. Final semester students may also apply, and if shortlisted, will be interviewed by IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi.

Application Process for IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Programs
The UG and PhD admission process for the academic year of 2025 is now closed. The 2026-27 admission process will commence around January 2026, and classes will begin in August 2026. Candidates will need to complete the online registration and provide the necessary documentary evidence for verification in accordance with the official schedule.
