Eligibility Criteria for SMAT 2025
IISM offers a range of full-time business management programs in sports, including:
- Bachelor's in Sports Management (BSM) – 3-year program
- Master's in Sports Management (MSM) – 2-year program
- Post Graduate Program in Sports & Wellness Management (PGPS & WM) – 11-month autonomous program
- Post Graduate Program in Sports Event Management – 11-month program
Admission to these programs can be secured through SMAT or the MAH CET (reserved for candidates from Maharashtra).
For Admission through SMAT:
- Open Category: A minimum of 50% at both Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and graduation levels.
- Reserved Category: A minimum of 45% at both HSC and graduation levels.
For Admission through MAH CET:
- Open Category: A minimum MAH CET percentile of 50.
- Reserved Category (Maharashtra Domicile Applicants Only): A minimum MAH CET percentile of 45.
Admission Process Overview
IISM follows a comprehensive three-stage admission process to identify and nurture future leaders in sports management:
Stage 1: SMAT Examination
An 80-mark test covering:
- Quantitative Analysis
- Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Verbal Reasoning
- Verbal Ability
- Sports Awareness
Candidates must also submit caselets designed to assess their analytical and problem-solving skills.
Stage 2: Panel Interview
- A 120-mark interview evaluating the candidate's suitability for the program.
Stage 3: Selection Letter
- Candidates who successfully clear the first two stages will receive a selection letter.
Qualifying Criteria
- A minimum of 50% in Stage 1 is required to advance to Stage 2.
- A cumulative score of at least 60% across Stages 1 and 2 is necessary to secure admission.
