IIM Jammu Reappointed Professor BS Sahay as Director For Second Term

New Delhi: Prof. B S Sahay has been appointed as the Director of IIM Jammu for a second term. Prof Sahay was appointed by the IIM Jammu Board of Governors as per the IIM Act 2023 (Amended). 

In his first term as Director of IIM Jammu, Prof. B S Sahay has shown his dedication to the institute through his vision for IIT Jammu, his managerial decisions, and his focus on academia and research. 

A statement by IIT Jammu stated, “Under his guidance, IIM Jammu has achieved significant milestones and scaled new heights of excellence”. Prof Sahay has previously also been the Director of IIM Raipur, MDI Gurgaon, and IMT Ghaziabad. He has also been the Advisor to the Chancellor of NMIMS University, Mumbai. 

Prof Sahay Expresses Gratitude for Reappointment

Prof. B. S. Sahay spoke about his reappointment, saying, "I am happy to be entrusted with the privilege of serving as the Director of IIM Jammu for a second term. I am deeply committed to leveraging our past successes as a foundation, propelling our institution to even greater heights of excellence and distinction. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Board of Governors...Their guidance and leadership have been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of our institute.”

He also expressed his excitement to collaborate with the Board of Governors and IIM Jammu faculty members in his second term. “It is through our collective efforts and shared vision that we will continue to advance the frontiers of management education and research to make it a world-class Institute,” he said.

Prof Sahay will keep his focus on academic excellence and industry engagement in his second term as well. Prof. Sahay has a B.Tech degree from BIT Sindri and has pursued his M.Tech. and PhD from IIT Delhi. He has around 36 years of work experience, including academic, teaching, and industry experience.
