New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) has introduced its new ‘Nurturing future leadership’ program under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme on the campus in Jagti.
The leadership training program is one of the unique residential program designed to develop the leadership skills of educators at different levels and create a pool of potential leaders for generational transition.
What are the Objectives of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program?
The programme is envisioned to make “Everyone a Leader” and has been designed to fullfill the following objectives:
- To build an ecosystem to inculcate leadership skills in faculty members at levels early in their career to advance both individual and organizational goals
- To be a broad-based leadership development programme (for all faculty across all levels)
iii. To expand the pool of potential leaders for the range of leadership positions
- To prepare faculty to contribute effectively and proactively in collective decision-making, shared governance, developing initiatives, problem solving
- Training the best faculty through a rigorous selection process vi. Enabling institute administration to assess leadership quality of their faculty through this program
What is the Duration of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program?
The program will be conducted for 5 days i.e; from March 18, 2024 to March 22, 2024 and it will be a residential program at IIM Jammu. There will be 4 sessions per day 1.5 hrs each for 5 days.
Each session will consist of lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises to ensure active engagement and application of concepts.
What is the Course Curriculum of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program?
The entire leadership training program will be divided into four broad themes such as leadership, communication, skill development and recent government initiatives covered in 5 days, having 4 sessions of 1.5 hours per day.
Each session will consist of lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, roleplays, and practical exercises to ensure active engagement and application of concepts.
Participants will engage in reflective exercises, peer learning, and action planning to implement leadership strategies in their respective academic environments. Assessment tools and feedback mechanisms will be integrated throughout the program to measure progress and ensure the attainment of learning objectives.
Who are Eligible for the Program?
The first batch of 30 participants shall include the Faculty member of a maximum of 4 from centrally-funded institutes and institutes of National Importance who are keen to develop and sharpen leadership skills. Faculty members with at least three years of teaching experience across all levels in public-funded Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) are encouraged to apply.
What After Course Completion?
On successful completion of the program, the participants will be issued a certificate of completion by IIM Jammu.
What is the Program Fee for the Course?
The total Program Fee for each participant in a batch for five days is Rs 50,000/- (inclusive GST). The first batch of 30 participants is being fully funded by the Ministry of Education, GoI. This is a residential program, and IIM Jammu will take care of the participants' on-campus boarding and lodging. However, the travel costs of the participants shall need to be borne by the respective HEIs themselves.
