The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have released the Common Admission Process (CAP) 2026 schedule for MBA admissions to participating IIMs. The process includes online registration, application review, personal interviews (PI), and final merit list preparation.

CAP 2026 Application Process

The IIM CAP admission process is conducted in two major stages, and candidates must successfully complete each phase to move forward.

Stage 1: Online application

Applicants need to fill in detailed information, including:

• Personal and academic details
• Work experience
• Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
• Uploading required documents
• Submitting Expression of Interest (EOI) for PI

After submission, applications are reviewed by participating IIMs, and shortlisted candidates move to the next stage.

Stage 2: PI slot booking and fee payment

Shortlisted candidates must:

• Pay the CAP application fee
  • General / NC-OBC / EWS: ₹2,000
  • SC / ST / PwD: ₹1,000

IIM CAP 2026 Selection Process

The complete IIM CAP selection process is conducted in eight structured steps:

1. Candidates select preferred IIM campuses during CAT registration
2. IIMs shortlist candidates based on CAT score and eligibility criteria
3. Conducting IIM compiles shortlisted candidates and sends emails
4. Candidates fill the CAP participation form
5. PI date and venue details are shared via email
6. Candidates appear for the common PI process
7. PI scores are shared with participating IIMs
8. Each IIM prepares its final merit list and sends offer letters by email

After the PI process, participating IIMs will independently prepare their final admission lists based on the approved CAP score components. Candidates receiving offer letters must complete further admission formalities within the given deadline to secure their seats.
