Objective Behind the Program

“From Job Seekers to Job Creators: Reimagining MBA in Contemporary India,” was the inaugural theme of the ceremony and was a quote of programme alumnus Ramaswamy. Several entrepreneurial alumni have also attended the inaugural session.

IIM Calcutta has launched the MBA Executive program to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of the participants and make them aware of India’s growth trajectory. In the ceremony, Professor Saibal Chattopadhyay, Director-in-Charge, and Professor Bhaskar Chakraborty, dean of academic programs, delivered the inaugural speech.

Professor Ramendra Singh from the IIMC marketing group shared insights on the “Bottom of the Pyramid” (BOP) concept with real-world case studies.

Startup Garage Hackathon

IIM Calcutta and the Innovation Park, led by CEO Subhrangshu Sanyal, organized the two-day Startup Garage Hackathon. The hackathon aimed to provide students with practical exposure to entrepreneurship techniques.

A total of 80 students took part in the hackathon, developing and sharing startup ideas, interacting with investors, and receiving guidance from them. Three teams won the hackathon based on profitability, validation, and passion for their ventures. They were awarded prizes.

Easy Toys won the hackathon. Insta Dine, which won validation surveys, was the first runner-up, and Howdy secured the second runner-up position.
