Applications are invited for the PhD program at IIIT Lucknow; the deadline is November 11, 2025.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Lucknow (IIIT Lucknow) has officially announced the commencement of its PhD admissions for the January 2026 session. Interested candidates can submit applications online beginning October 17, 2025, with the final date set for November 11, 2025.
The selection process will involve a written exam and/or personal interview scheduled between December 5 and December 8, with results expected by December 20. This PhD program covers broad areas such as Engineering, Management and Mathematics, and is aimed at preparing scholars for global academic, industrial and R&D roles.

IIIT Lucknow PhD Admission 2026 Eligibility
IIIT Lucknow has opened applications for its PhD program, welcoming candidates with a relevant Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or Mathematics. The admission is offered under three categories, Self-Financed Full-Time, Working Professional, and ASHA (Aspiring Students in Higher Academics).
Under the Self-Financed Full-Time category, scholars will not receive institutional funding; however, candidates who have qualified CSIR/UGC/DAE/NBHM/DST/DBT/ICAR/ICMR/ICPR or secured external funding post-Master’s will also be considered.
The Working Professional track caters to employed applicants, while the ASHA category is specifically designed for those committed to building careers in academia and research.
IIIT Lucknow, an Institute of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament, highlights strong academic credentials and successful placements. In addition, PhD candidates receive financial support for presenting research at conferences and workshops, reinforcing the institute’s focus on producing future leaders in academia, industry, and R&D.
