IIIT Hyderabad UGEE 2026 Registration Begins @iiit.ac.in; Apply by March 31

IIIT Hyderabad has opened UGEE 2026 registrations for its dual degree programmes. Eligible candidates can apply till March 31, while the entrance exam will be held on May 2, 2026.

 IIIT Hyderabad UGEE 2026 Registration Begins

The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has started the registration process for the Undergraduate Entrance Examination (UGEE) 2026. This entrance mode is conducted for admission to the institute’s dual degree programmes, which offer a combination of B.Tech and Master of Science by Research. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal till March 31, 2026.

The UGEE programme is designed for students interested in research-oriented careers and higher studies. The five-year dual degree course includes a research thesis and prepares graduates for advanced roles in technology and academia. The available programmes include Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computational Linguistics, Computational Natural Sciences, Computing and Human Sciences and Geospatial Technology.

IIIT Hyderabad UGEE 2026: Important Dates

Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics between 2023 and June 2026. Applicants who completed their Class 12 in 2022 or earlier are not eligible to apply. Check the important dates here:-

Exam Pattern and Selection Process

The exam duration is three hours and includes two sections:

  • SUPR (Subject Proficiency Test) for 60 minutes
  • REAP (Research Aptitude Test) for 120 minutes

There will be a negative marking of 25% in both sections. Candidates will first be shortlisted based on SUPR performance and then ranked using REAP scores for the interview stage. Final selection will be based on interview performance conducted on campus.

The institute has also introduced diversity initiatives and aims to have at least 25% women among shortlisted candidates. The application fee is ₹3,100 for male applicants and ₹1,550 for female candidates.

Apart from UGEE, IIIT Hyderabad offers multiple admission channels for undergraduate and dual-degree programmes. Students can apply through different modes based on their eligibility and academic background.
