A team of scientists from University of Hyderabad have developed a laser-based process to reduce the crystallisation temperature of ferroelectric thin films from 750 to 250 degrees centigrade. The process helps in reaching at a temperature that makes the ferroelectric thin films compatible with polymer substrates, which are widely used in industry, the university said.

It also enables some of the devices made with these materials that are frequency agile compatible with microwave integrated circuits. The circuits are made by the industry, giving them novel functionalities.
