BV Sharma, an alumnus of Hyderabad University has been selected as the new Director of Anthropological Survey of India (ASI), Kolkata. He taught students for over 30 years in the fields of Medical Anthropology, Tribal Welfare and Development, etc.

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, an alumnus of the Department of Anthropology, School of Social Sciences, Hyderabad University (UoH), BV Sharma has been selected as the new Director of the Anthropological Survey of India (ASI), Kolkata.

BV Sharma has worked with Hyderabad University, under the Department of Anthropology, School of Social Sciences and taught students for over 30 years in the fields of Medical Anthropology, Tribal Welfare and Development and Social Anthropology.

He has completed his MA degree in Anthropology from Pune University and PhD at UoH. BV Sharma worked as a Project Investigator, working on various projects which were sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Tribal Welfare Department, Telangana.

In addition to this, he has also written and published more than 30 publications in various forms, which include Prestigious Journals, Books, Edited Volumes and Project Reports. He will now start his duties as a Director of the Anthropological Survey of India (ASI), Kolkata.

In other news, the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has collaborated with Ananth Technologies, a Hyderabad-based company working in the space and strategic sector, with the aim to promote research of tunable microwave devices and sensors.

The MoU event of Hyderabad University and Ananth Technologies was attended by the Registrar of the University, Dr Devesh Nigam, Chairman of MoU Committee, Prof.Sivakumar, R&D Coordinator, Prof.Samrat L Sabat, IoE Director, Prof.M.Ghanshyam Krishna, the MoA coordinator, Dr.Pratap Kollu and the PRO, Ashish Jacob Thomas.
