How Did the Partnership Come About?

Group I and Group II officers are likely to be the first beneficiaries. The tie-up will also enable industry collaboration and research initiatives. It aims to strengthen international-standard training within Telangana.
The CM has positioned the partnership as a step towards creating a global knowledge hub. More foreign universities are expected to follow Harvard into the state.

What Harvard Currently Offers in India?
Harvard Business School (HBS) already runs a flagship India programme called the Senior Executive Leadership Program India. The 2027 edition of the programme costs Rs 44 lakh plus GST. It combines modules in Mumbai with two weeks at HBS Boston.
The Hyderabad launch will mark a new direct-delivery format for Harvard in India. Harvard also offers short executive courses through its professional and lifelong learning platform.
Details of the Hyderabad programmes will be confirmed closer to the December 2026 launch. The state plans to route interested government officers first. Private-sector aspirants may get access in later cohorts.

Who Can Expect to Benefit First?
Senior state government officers are the first confirmed audience. This aligns with the training focus announced in February 2026. Mid-career and senior functional leaders in Telangana industries may follow.
Private-sector executives from Hyderabad-based firms may also become eligible in future cohorts. However, application windows for non-government participants have not yet been announced.
This is the first time Harvard will run regular executive programmes in Hyderabad. Telangana becomes one of the first Indian states to host Harvard-led on-ground training.
