Gujarat University To Offer BS Program in line with NEP from 2024-25 Session

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, Gujarat University will introduce the Bachelor of Science (BS) program from the 2024-2025 session. The program aligns with the goal of NEP 2020, allowing post-graduation courses within a year after completing the four-year BS course.

As per Gujarat University, freshers from BA, B.Com, BSc, BCA, and BBA can enrol in the program and earn a Bachelor of Science (BS/BS Honours) degree. The standard graduation degree spans three years, while the honours degree requires four years.

Key Highlights of Gujarat University BS Degree Program 2024

The Gujarat University BS course will depart from traditional faculty-based structures, focusing on significant subjects. The revamped program will offer majors in subjects like Economics, Sociology, Gujarati, Physics, Sanskrit, Botany, and Mathematics.

Eligibility criteria include Class 12 completion from GSHSEB, CBSE, or ICSE. Those with Class 12 qualifications from NIOS or vocational diplomas can also apply. A minimum of 50% is required from 122 credits for the three-year BS graduate degree and 50% from 162 credits for the four-year BS honours degree.

Neerja Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University, highlighted that GU stands out by offering the highest number of subjects (22) in the BS degree and honours course compared to other universities in the state.
