Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has postponed MTech admissions. The Centralised Real-Time Admission covers GATE and DAT candidates for 2026. It will now be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. The revised notice is published on admissions.cusat.ac.in. Candidates must attend on the new date to secure a seat.

The counselling round is for postgraduate engineering seats at CUSAT. It is meant for those holding a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. It also covers candidates who cleared the Departmental Admission Test (DAT). The full instructions for July 7 are on the CUSAT admissions portal. The direct instruction sheet PDF is now live.

Who Should Report on July 7?

Two groups of candidates must attend the counselling session. CUSAT follows a merit-based selection process for MTech seats. GATE score holders receive a 5 percent mark relaxation. This edge applies over DAT candidates in the same merit list.

  • Candidates with a valid GATE 2026 score in the relevant discipline.
  • Candidates who appeared in the CUSAT Departmental Admission Test.

How to Attend the CUSAT MTech Real-Time Counselling?

The Centralised Real-Time Admission is an in-person counselling at CUSAT. Candidates are called in order of merit for each MTech branch. Follow the steps below on July 7, 2026.

  1. Download the instruction sheet from admissions.cusat.ac.in a day early.
  2. Carry the printed application, valid ID proof, and mark sheets.
  3. Report at the venue mentioned in the instruction sheet on time.
  4. Complete document verification with the CUSAT counselling committee at the venue.
  5. Choose an available MTech branch based on the live merit list.
  6. Pay the seat acceptance fee and collect the provisional allotment.

What Documents Should Candidates Carry?

Original documents are required for verification at the CUSAT counselling venue. Missing papers can lead to loss of the allotted seat.

  • GATE 2026 scorecard or CUSAT DAT admit card and result.
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates.
  • Bachelor's degree final mark sheet and provisional certificate.
  • Two recent passport size photographs and a valid photo ID.
  • Community, income, or category certificates where the seat requires them.
Why This Postponement Matters

CUSAT offers 14 specialised MTech programmes across engineering streams. Any change in the Real-Time round directly affects seat allotment order. July 7 is now the single reporting window for both groups.
