CLAT 2026 Result to be revised along with the answer key as directed by the Allahabad High Court order. CLAT Third Merit List 2026 has also been postponed until further notice.

The Consortium of National Law Universities has announced that the CLAT Result 2026 will be revised after an order from the Allahabad High Court. Along with the result, the CLAT UG 2026 Answer Key will also be updated as directed by the court.
Due to this development, the CLAT 2026 UG Third Merit List, scheduled for release on February 05, 2026, has been postponed until further notice. A new counselling schedule will be announced after the legal process is completed.
By a judgment, a Learned Single Judge of the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Allahabad has issued certain directions in respect of the CLAT UG 2026 exam. The Consortium hereby provides the following update for the benefit of all students:
- The Court has directed a revision of the CLAT 2026 UG merit list (originally published on December 16, 2025). This revision requires awarding marks for Question No. 9 of BookletC (and its equivalents across all sets) by recognising both options ‘B’ and ‘D’ as correct.
- The revision of scores is not to affect candidates who have been allotted seats in round 1 of the counselling process.
The Executive Committee of the Consortium has decided to prefer a Special Appeal against this judgment to the Hon’ble Division Bench of the Allahabad High Court.
Impact on Counselling Schedule:
- Postponement: The release of the 3rd UG Admission List, originally scheduled for February 05, 2026, is deferred until further notice.
- Revised Calendar: A new counselling schedule will be announced following the outcome of the appeal process.
- Allotted seats: The Consortium intends to take all legal steps to ensure that no seats allotted to students in rounds 1 and 2 of the counselling, which are already concluded, are impacted in any way. The Consortium also intends to reiterate its defence of the Final Answer Key, as previously notified, in its appeal to ensure that the said key is maintained without any change for future rounds of counselling as well.
The Consortium further clarified that it will continue to defend the existing Final Answer Key, aiming to keep it unchanged for future rounds of counselling, subject to the final judicial outcome.
