CBSE Class 10, 12 Practical Exams 2024 Guidelines

The School principals and teachers are instructed to strictly adhere to the following guidelines provided by CBSE:

  • Ensure the timely arrangements of a satisfactory quantity of practical answer books at the school before the scheduled practical examination date.
  • Inform parents and students about the schedule, format, and any specific requirements for the practical exams.
  • Verify the availability of essential arrangements, including infrastructure, equipment, and materials, in the laboratories for the smooth conduction of practical exams.
  • Reassure that the laboratories or facilities are appropriately arranged to facilitate students in conducting their experiments.
  • Proactively reach out to examiners well in advance to ensure a seamless and punctual execution of the examination process on the designated date and time.
  • Identify students with special needs or disabilities and implement necessary accommodations to facilitate their comfortable participation in the practical exams.
  • Students must adhere to the scheduled timing for the practical examinations. The marks for all Practical Examinations, Projects, and Internal Assessments should be promptly uploaded on the date of assessment.
  • During the uploading process, both the school and the examiners, whether internal or external, should verify and ensure the accuracy of the marks. Confirm the maximum marks designated for practicals, projects, or internal assessments before assigning and uploading the scores.
  • Class 12 schools are not permitted to arrange an alternate external examiner for practical examinations or project assessments at the local level. The practical examination must be conducted exclusively by an external examiner appointed by the Board.
  • After the finalisation of the process, no alterations to the marks are permitted. Both examiners must exercise careful attention to guarantee the accuracy of the uploaded marks.
  • Failure to comply with the Board's directives may result in the cancellation of the Practical examination. The Board will not entertain requests for date extensions.
