What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

My philosophy of leadership is the core purpose of giving me the right direction and encouraging me to promote education to society. I do my duties in the fond remembrance of my father. The RK group of institutions have key pillars of values and ethics where we believe in engaging with students, involving trainers in course planning and lesson scheduling, and coordinating with administrative and support staff and getting their feedback. Overall, we strive for maximum satisfaction of people connected in our ecosystem.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

We are a culturally diverse country with a rich heritage and a wide range of languages, religions, and traditions. Studying in India can expose you to this diversity, allowing you to broaden your horizons, enhance your intercultural competence, and gain a deeper understanding of different perspectives. Online teaching methods have also gained momentum now. Indian have started accessing those certifications which are offered by international institutions. In a way, they are now in a better state of comparing what is offered where and where their respective aspirations may get fulfilled.

To address this comparison, especially, for the Media and Entertainment sector, we keep our curriculum updated with autonomous courses. Students learn what is trending today and relevant for tomorrow with the help of trainers having respective industry experience.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

RK Institute is a welcoming place for students from all backgrounds. We accept all applicants to pursue our academic programs. We have had international students in our programs completing various courses like Acting, Filmmaking, Voice Overs, Scriptwriting, Mass Communication, Photography, etc. Moreover, our collaboration for certificate programs under Delhi University has made our training accessible to a wider audience.

What do you think should be the institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

Our top priority for the upcoming years is to keep evolving with technology and offer the latest and trending content through our courses. This will help in giving the best education to the upcoming generation. We are planning to include practical aspects of the education delivery which is most important for any institute. We are also trying to achieve academic excellence, focus on research and innovation, have more diversity in the student population and be more sustainable.

Engage in extracurricular activities, internships, or part-time jobs that align with your curiosity. Set clear goals for the short term and long term. Having clear objectives will guide your academic choices and help you stay focused.

Cultivate a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. Be curious, ask questions, and seek knowledge in diverse areas. Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Build meaningful connections with peers, mentors, and professionals in your field of interest. Attend events, join clubs or organizations, and participate in networking opportunities to expand your network. These relationships can provide valuable guidance, support, and future opportunities.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute?

I do not bound myself to my cabin or room. Routine interaction with everyone helps me to know my students better. I try to foster a culture of open and transparent communication between students, faculty, and staff. We encourage active dialogue, feedback, and discussions to ensure everyone feels heard and valued.

We also believe in establishing comprehensive student support services to cater to the diverse needs of students. We organize events, workshops, and initiatives that promote cross-cultural understanding and respect. Moreover, we regularly assess and evaluate the institute’s policies, programs, and services to identify areas for improvement. We also try to seek feedback from students, faculty, and staff and make necessary adjustments to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
