Nelson Business School

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institution or department, which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

The latest trending course is artificial intelligence and machine learning. We, at Nelson, are offering an MBA in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Students can opt for this program and stand out from the competition by working in an emerging industry. Most universities still do not offer this specialisation. Additionally, we also offer traditional specialisations like HR, Marketing, and Operations.

What are the factors that make this program the best for students to opt for?

The factors that make this program the best to opt for are the curriculum. We are offering a student-friendly syllabus that is easy to understand. It has been made to ensure students are able to assimilate into the industry seamlessly. Moreover, we offer multiple unique specialisations that allow students to explore new and upcoming career paths. We also offer career guidance and help regarding what course to choose and which specialisation to opt for. These are the factors that make our program the best option for students.

What will you say are the best practices this course is offering?

The best practice we offer is our faculty, most of whom are PhD candidates. They bring their experience and education to the classroom to make learning more engaging. They are also always open to guiding and mentoring our students.

What are some valuable insights of the program that you are offering at your institutional department?

We have a concept called fast track, where students have the option to finish their degree before the deadline. For instance, the MBA program which is completed in two years, can be done in one year. Students do not have to wait two years to earn their degree. They can do the necessary work to graduate early. This is highly valuable for students who wish to start their careers early.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

To prepare our students for the future, we offer offline classes and classes on the weekend as well. These classes can be used to clarify doubts. Our curriculum is well-designed to reflect industrial needs and requirements. These two things, I think, are what students need right now to be well-prepared for the future.

How do you train yourself and the faculty to deliver this program to the students?

We offer self-training for our faculty members to better teach the students. These sessions help our faculty members and students get to know what the industry wants from them. The college also regularly keeps updating the curriculum and introduces new specialisations as well. Presently, we have over 200 courses that we have gradually added over the years. These courses cover trending subjects such as photography management, sports management, etc.

How do you tend to build an industry connect with this program?

We have a placements team that works on securing placements for the students. The cell has tie-ups with over 200 companies, like Accenture. Our students send resumes to these companies and they get selected for internships and jobs. We also organise talks and special classes with industry professionals and experts.

What were the challenges that you have kind of faced while inculcating these unique programs in your curriculum?

We have more than 300 unique specialisations like fashion design, jewellery management, event management, school management, and diary management. Our biggest challenge in creating these courses was hiring subject matter experts in these specialisations. These experts would make the course and also teach the class. It is easier to hire faculty members for traditional specialisations like Marketing and Finance.

What are the types of projects that students will be working on throughout this program?

Our programs are designed for working-class professionals. These individuals have significant experience in their field so having projects in their courses is optional. They can complete them if they want to but it is not mandatory. We also have project guides for them for any and all assistance they need to complete their projects.

What are the benefits or the career prospects that students have after completing this course?

The major benefit our students experience after completing our course is securing promotions in their current jobs. They are able to increase their pay scale and secure higher positions. Additionally, through our massive placements and industry network, we are able to find suitable jobs for our students.
