Miss. Archita Mallick has been working as the Centre Head of Divine College of Health Science, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. She was very good in studies from her childhood and after completing her schooling she gradually developed interest in the field of Health and Science. 

Hence she did her Graduation with Health and Science Specialisation from Emarti Devi College and then started her professional journey as an Assistant Manager with Divine College.

How is the overall culture and atmosphere of Divine college?

I would say that the overall culture of our college is very good and favorable as per students and teachers needs. Along with this, as we are located in a beautiful place, so the surroundings and pleasant atmosphere makes the college ambiance truly motivating, energetic and peaceful in all aspects.

As a Center Head of the Divine College, what are your key responsibilities?

Being the Head of the Divine College, my primary responsibility is to ensure that our students, staff members and faculties get right kind of and best possible environment and opportunities on campus to grow on both personal and professional level. Apart from this, institution growth is equally my ownership and providing finest quality Nursing education to young and ambitious youths, maintaining a 1:10 student-teacher ratio, arranging frequent meetings with various committees, faculty, and student groups and regular taking feedback from students for consistent improvement also comes under the scope of my work.

What specific measures has your institution implemented to address the increasing mental health issues among students?

Our institute provides pre-admission counseling to students in order to guide them about their actual course and career needs and a robust infrastructure and facilities have been developed in campus to effectively arrange these kind of sessions. And if needed, students are offered professional help too. 

Other than this, our faculty members regularly organize sessions on stress management, yoga and Pranayam. Last but not the least, a one-on-one counseling session is arranged every week for students so that they can discuss their academic and personal issues with us without any hesitation.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of the industry?

The programs which we are offering to our students have been designed in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council, hence the curriculum has content equal to international standards. And if we find any kind of gaps between our students' skills and what industry actually is demanding, accordingly their academic progress is monitored under the constant supervision of a faculty. 

Apart from all this, our experienced faculties actively take part in various kinds of activities and events which are centered around the teaching-learning process, only in order to ensure that the best content is delivered to their students.

How do you maintain good relations with the students of your institute?

In order to have strong, cordial and long-lasting relations with students, our college has developed the best possible ambiance on campus and students have the freedom to connect with faculties anytime in need either via in-person or through telephone as well. 

And all the class teachers and mentors we have assigned to them are very helpful, patient and experts of their own domain. And as and when required, I personally interact with all my students during clinical rounds as well as lectures.

How does your college prepare its students for the outside competitive world?

For the purpose of making subjects more practical oriented and preparing our students for the cut-throat competitive world so that they can grow on each front in life, our college offers best learning opportunities to them. Apart from this, we have maintained a very beautiful, peaceful and energetic teaching-learning environment for the benefit of both our teachers and students.

Last but not the least, we have collaborated with reputed Hospitals and Clinics to educate our students in real-world scenarios and enhance their expertise under the guidance of best mentors.

Any advice which you would like to give to the current students and aspiring youths?

I would like to advise my dear students and ambitious youths of our society who wish to make a thrilling career in Medical and Hospital Administration to learn essential clinical skills and acquire knowledge which will be required to treat patients. Apart from this, develop strong ethical and moral values and be responsible towards your goals and life. 

Above all, be a good human being and stay positive because fields like Nursing are very demanding and one can only achieve success with sincere hard work, practical exposure and perseverance.
