What are the challenges you faced to uplift the quality of education of your department?
We are facing challenges in communication and in writing skills with the students. As some of our students come from rural backgrounds, it takes time for them to adjust to the classes, which are conducted in English. To address this challenge, we hold communication classes to help them catch up with their peers and level the playing field.
When you came to college, what was your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?
My vision when I came to the college was to help the students grow as well as provide them with practical based knowledge so that they could flourish in their lives. I brought forth a visionary perspective that pulsated with fervent aspirations to not only foster the growth and development of our cherished students but also to serve as a beacon of practical wisdom that illuminated their education journey.
How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?
I help the students by updating them on current affairs related to what is currently on trend and the recent developments in the field. We do this by attending seminars and conferences in our industry. These all help them gain the necessary knowledge in their fields, which will automatically help them advance in this technologically driven world.
Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real world challenges?
We do provide extracurricular activities through an annual pharmacy week and also on World Pharmacy Day. We regularly organize health camps and plantation designs. In these events, students participate and do various tasks on the basis of which they receive awards and learn essential skills.
How does your department prepare students for higher education?
We prepare the students for higher education by conducting GPAT classes and also conducting guest lectures. These will help them grow in their careers and in their day-to-day education, both of which help them prepare for their future goals.
