Being the director of the institute what is your philosophy of leadership how would you describe your leadership style?

According to me, a leader is the one for whom people want to work willingly. A true leader always works with the team and not just orders them. This has been my leadership motto from the very beginning.

Any insights into how your institute could be more welcoming to the students of different races or economic backgrounds?

Since we are a girls' institute and we have many admissions through the Purvanchal Belt as well, where the economic conditions of the families are not as great as those of Lucknow, we provide scholarships as per government terms. Also, we provide relaxation in the fees if the condition of the student is not good economically. I have always felt that education is the only profession which does not judge students on the basis of their family, background, cast, colour or any such parameter, and it only focuses on the betterment of future.

What do you see as your institute’s greatest strength?

Education has always been the greatest strength of the Modern Girls College of Professional Studies. We provide high-quality education so that students have a job in their hands once they leave the institute and not just a degree. To ensure this, we keep conducting seminars and take a practical approach in our curriculum Also, we are located in Gomti Nagar, which is a prime location and a safer environment, and female safety is one of the major concerns of the parents.

What would you like to people know about your Institute that they might not know?

Modern College of Professional Studies is known for its academic excellence but I want people to recognise us as one of those institutes that pays special attention to extracurricular activities and events as well. Here we conduct many sports festivals along with cultural and technical fest where students get to interact with each other with the faculty and also with various students from other institutes participating. It helps them improvise their social and relation-building skills along with technical knowledge.

What are the biggest challenges you see both for higher education in general, and for your Institute specifically?

The challenge, I feel, that students will encounter in the coming days is too much reliability on smartphones. In previous days, when we used to study, teachers and books were the only possible ways to gain knowledge, but nowadays students have moved to smartphones, which decreases their minds, efficiency, efforts and hunger to learn something from teachers. However, there are some advantages to using technology but what I feel is that it is great for decreasing the general IQ and increasing their dependency on a device, then their brain.

What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

Our priority is to be one of the most renowned girls colleges in Lucknow and, later on, to compete with major colleges across UP in terms of education, environment and placements. The institute is planning to start smart classes as we did during COVID-19 times. Like everyone else, we also faced difficulties but now we are prepared for tough times. We will be planning to start a few more medical courses, as there are a lot of requirements for medical staff as per the latest government reports.

Any suggestions, you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

Discipline and focus are the two things required to achieve success in your life. Be consistent and keep your goal in mind. Do not get distracted by peer pressure and do what you want to do, not just because your friends are doing it but because your family wants you to pursue it.
