Dr. Diptendu Goswami is the Professor and Director at Smt. Vidyawati Group of Institutions, Jhansi, U.P. He has a total 24 years of experience in Research, Teaching and Administration after M. Pharm. He also has 10 years experience (after Ph. D.) in CRO Industry in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry. He has several research publications to his name and has worked in the position of Team Leader and lead international client’s projects located in the USA and Europe. He is a Life Member of Indian Association for the Cultivation of Sciences and the Indian Science Congress Associations well.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the Education sector? 

“Aim to make the students educated and make them capable of meeting the challenges in the modern Industry”

I have 10 years of experience in Industrial Research and Development in the field of Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry before joining the Education Field of Pharmaceutical Technology and Sciences. Only placing the students in some Jobs, is not the only target. The target is to make them capable enough so that they can sustain the job and prove themselves as the best working force in the Industry. 

What is your philosophy of leadership? 

“The responsibility of a leader is to increase the ownership, autonomy, and responsibility of followers”

Being a leader, my focus is to bring the best out of my employees. The key, then, is to help people feel purposeful, motivated, and energized so they can bring their best selves to work. One of the best ways is to adopt the humble mind-set. 

When leaders are humble, show respect, and ask how they can serve their employees and subordinates better, then these leaders improve the organization, and the outcomes can be outstanding. 

Do you have any extracurricular activities to enhance the skills of the students?

“A constant motivational system for students to participate in social, cultural & educational events”

Students are always encouraged to get involved in different Extracurricular Activities (EAs) in the college. The practical experience gained by being involved in some sort of EAs will benefit the students in their career by enhancing their managerial skills. Hence, this Institution conducts EAs on a regular basis like participation in different group projects and presentations, different sports activities during Annual sports events, volunteering, and organizing different social activities like Blood Donation Camps, Health Camps, Social Service Camps, etc.

What do you think your responsibilities to the College and the students are?

“To work as a leader, facilitator, and a responsible person for the development for all the stakeholders”

  • One of the most important functions is to see that excellent faculty are recruited, retained, supported, and rewarded for their good work. I have to take the responsibility for supporting the professional development of all faculty members.
  • I also have the responsibility for future planning for all the departments and courses, reviewing the different programs running in all the Institution.
  • All the students of all Institutions are always free to meet me if they face any sort of problems, be related to academics or any other issues. I always share my knowledge and experiences with my students and guide them for their careers. 

What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next 10 years? 

“Improve research-based activities and bring in more UG and PG courses”

At present this organization is only imparting foundation courses in the field of Pharmacy, Nursing, Education, Science, Arts, Commerce, ITI, etc. 

Our graduates and diploma certified students in these fields are already doing jobs in their respective fields. Soon we are going to initiate higher post-graduate level courses in the field of Pharmacy. Pharmacy is ever-increasing and growing in the field of Science and Technology. We will impart the best quality education in the Master of Pharmacy 

Have you introduced any new programs at your college? 

“We are going to initiate higher post-graduate level courses in the field of Pharmacy”

  • We will impart the best quality education in the Master of Pharmacy in the specializations of Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutics. We are going to train the master’s degree students with the latest knowledge and skills as required in these Research Organizations and Industries. 
  • In the next 10 years, our goal is to be one of the best Research-oriented pharmaceutical institutes in North India. 
  • We are also planning to bring in the graduate and post-graduate level courses in the field of Nursing. 
  • We are going to increase the general science, arts and commerce streams with postgraduate courses and provide one of the best workforces to the service of our country.

What would you like people to know about your college they may not know? 

“We have several different courses in field of Arts, Commerce, Pharmacy, Nursing, ITI, etc”

Being a self-financed private educational institution, there are a lot of challenges to overcome in order to make this Institution an institute of repute at the National Level. We are focusing to bring in master’s degree courses to meet the challenges in Pharmaceutical Industry and Drug Development Research. 

We at present run different courses at the undergraduate level like Bachelor of Pharmacy, Diploma in Pharmacy, GNM, ANM, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, ITI, etc.

Study the subjects and the topics mentioned in your syllabus in great detail. Study from textbooks which are of international standards and globally accepted. I would suggest they attend and perform all experiments religiously in their practical classes.
