What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
“To train teachers and help in the core development of society”
Brihadarankya Upanishad reveals “ Asatoma Sadgamaya, Tamaso Maa Jyotirgamaya— Lead me from untruth to truth, Lead me from darkness to light.” This eternal transformation is possible through Education which is at the core of human and societal development and is the cornerstone in the foundation of our nation-building. Guided and inspired by the philosophy – “To train teachers to teach a nation”, I started my career as a teacher educator. As an astute and senior professional, I started generating insights and experience in academics, allied activities, and administration in higher education. Higher Education Institutions, being the right platforms for creativity and innovations, I grew ceaselessly across hierarchies and successfully delivered at senior-level positions. I started my career with NCERT and rose to the level of Professor. Learning to learn, being my mission I acquired higher education competencies that include high impact teaching & training, multidisciplinary research, and innovation.
What is your philosophy of leadership?
“Leadership refers to building a strong team for the achievement of the desired goal”
As I believe, leadership is all about preparing a set of teams to achieve success and to succeed we need to develop a set of competencies in each domain of organizational development. I consider myself a democratic, transformational, and visionary leader. I analyze the traits of team members and the needs/demands of my organization and tune up the competencies of team members with emotional intelligence. I protect my team members from outside impediments and make them strong within. I make my team members belong to me and my organization, which eventually helps me to achieve the set goal.
How do you strategize the plans for marketing and administration of your organization?
“For strategizing plans, we focus on the key programs based on market needs”
In our university, Programs are designed as per industry/market needs. Although being in a university, instead of being market-centric, it has to entertain some programs which may show variables in their market-driven economic environment but for holistic academic development, some of these programs need to be figured in the program list of the university. The university does not want to see a rush of students into the premises of the university; one-to-one counseling is undertaken by professional counselors who are proficient with psychometric assessment techniques. In this cutting-edge technology era, the promotion of university programs and activities are ensured through our website. However, word-of-mouth publicity by the stakeholders and beneficiaries including alumni makes more sense in real terms.
