Can you provide an overview of the detailed program being offered here?

Over here we have got the entire gamut of programs including a BSc degree in Hotel Management, an MBA in Hotel Management, 1-year Diploma in Hotel Management and 6-Month Certificate of Hotel Management and students can choose this specialization among four departments which are Front Office, Kitchens, F&B Services and Housekeeping.

What are the language courses being offered in your college?

We also train students in English and German language so that when they graduate from this institution, they are multilingual and they are easily picked up by leading five star hotels around the world.

What sets your hotel management program apart from other institutions?

The infrastructure and faculty of our college set our college apart from the other institutions. We also take pride in our infrastructure. We have the leading infrastructure in whole India when it comes to Hotel Management, practical labs and classrooms. At the same time, our faculty is well-groomed and experienced from leading five-star hotels. We are also apart from a lot of other institutions in terms of placements. How do you ensure that the curriculum stays relevant to the current strengths and demands in the Hospitality Industry?

We are having regular interactions with the leading general managers of the hotel industry not only in India but even Abroad. So we keep asking them what the latest requirement is. For instance post Corona there are many things that have changed. So we have added that in our curriculum so that when our students go into the hotel industry, they are very much comfortable and able to take up the jobs easily.

What kind of practical experience or internship the students gained during their time in the college?

Well, the Herbarium Institute of International Hotel Studies takes pride in its practical exposure. We offer 80% practicals and 20% theory for all our students for all the courses. At the same time, we conduct regular visits to various five-star hotels from the very first year and then students are also taken for a program called Hater which is Herbarium education transfers abroad. In this program, we take our students to Singapore for 10 days of exposure in an international market where students learn about how hotels are operating in a foreign land and also we take them on regular visits to hotels in India to get to know how the work happens.

Can you tell me about any notable alumni from your hotel management program and their accomplishments?

I can name several of them. However, I would like to talk about one person called Neeraj Sehrawat, who is a very humble boy who joined us in earlier years. Being from a village background, he was not very well groomed from city life, however, during his course study we have groomed him and today he is a manager in a five star hotel in London. So this itself talks about the credibility and quality of Herbarium that even people from small towns or villages are becoming managers in the leading countries and cities around the world.

What kind of faculty members does the college have and what exercise do they bring to the program?

We have got faculty for each and every department, including front office, FBI services, kitchens and housekeeping, and we have also got specialized faculty for teaching German and English language. So if I talk about the experience, they all have real experience in their field. At the same time, they bring their own expertise to the institution and that’s the reason Herbarium Institute of International Hotel Studies, New Delhi, the leading institution of India for hotel management studies.

What resources and facilities does the college provide to enhance student’s learning experiences?

Our college offers several resources. We have state-of-the-art bars and kitchens. At the same time, we also have our auditorium where our students can interact with each other. We also encourage students to participate in a lot of activities like socializing through chess, Carrom in which students interact and get to learn about each other.
