What innovative teaching methods are being used by teachers of your college to train students beyond curriculum?

We have implemented various innovative methods to teach students beyond hard-coded syllabus and curriculum, develop engaging and student-centered learning environments and facilitate the integration of theory and practice, and project-based learning which we use to boost learning outside the classroom by encouraging teamwork and active learning among students, has proved to be the very first and in fact most effective approach so far.

Also, an intense focus on learning through reflection and first-hand experience is given and numerous events including guest lectures, workshops, webinars, workshops, fieldwork are conducted from time to time.

And we also offer best internship opportunities and use simulations and case studies while delivering lectures to students.

Then there are various assessment methods including presentations, portfolios, group projects, and practical exams, where students have the chance to exhibit their knowledge and unique skills.

Being the Vice-Principal and Assistant Professor of SS Jain Subodh PG Mahavidyalaya, what are your key responsibilities towards students?

As an Assistant Professor and Vice-Principal of the SS Jain Mahavidyalaya, I have several key responsibilities towards my students and institution. And my very first accountability is that I need to deliver the course content in a clear and organized manner, create presentations, and use an amalgamation of different teaching techniques to effectively convey information to students.

Apart from this, developing a conducive learning environment for students so that they can collaborate with their peers more and more, providing guidance and support to students as and when required, answering their queries to clarify their concepts and providing additional resources to them to deepen their subject understanding also comes under the scope of my work.

Additionally, as a subject expert, we evaluate students' academic progress through internal assessment, quizzes, assignments and projects and then provide timely feedback to students about their performance by identifying areas of improvement and recognizing strengths.

In other terms, our prime responsibility is to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable, respected and motivated to learn and explore. Because thus It promotes mutual respect, encourages diverse perspectives, and manages classroom dynamics effectively. Last but not the least, we provide career guidance to students to choose a suitable job out of available ones.

Why do you think the domain of Public Administration is so important and beneficial for students?

In modern times, the Humanities and Social Science domain have become more promising and are also providing amazing career opportunities. And this subject also helps students to prepare for a better future as they read about the past, analyze it, and predict how it would shape and impact the coming future.

Also, the corporations have been inclined to hire young graduates from the field of Humanities and Social Science, hence we can say it has become one of the fastest emerging disciplines in an exponentially dynamic national environment.

And the reason why this subject provides a plethora of work opportunities to youths is that it is not just a field where one only wishes to earn money, but it also motivates an individual to explore human ideology, beliefs, expressions through art, and archaeology when they get to study domains like Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration and Sociology.

And post successfully pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in it, students can explore diverse domains like Law, Civil Services, Content Writing, Social Work and Tourism etc.

Which extracurricular activities are organized by your college to enhance the skills of students?

Our college regularly organizes many academic competitions, conferences, workshops, and seminars related to specific disciplines to enhance students skills and provide them a platform to showcase their knowledge and problem-solving skills. Apart from this, they get to interact and learn from experts during these events.

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

I firmly believe that a successful curriculum is one that continuously evolves and adapts to meet the needs of students. And hence while strategizing and updating our curriculum, we give special emphasis to collaboration, flexibility and student-centered teaching-learning practices.

Apart from this, we thoroughly analyze our students goals, learning outcomes and academic needs, stay updated with the latest research and educational trends and regularly connect with students, their parents, teachers, administrators, and community members to make informed decisions.

Last but not the least, we collect feedback from the students through surveys, class discussions and one-on-one conversation during and post the implementation of the curriculum to understand if things are going as planned or not.

How do you introduce a practical and industry-oriented approach towards subjects?

For the purpose of making subjects more industry driven and practical in nature, we first identify the set of specific skills including problem-solving abilities, teamwork, communication, or critical thinking capabilities along with technical competencies that are highly valued and in demand too in the industrial world. After this, we align our teaching methodologies and objectives accordingly.

In addition to this, as per our particular program, we conduct rigorous research about different types of industries, their latest trends, technological advancements and real-world applications. And the prime benefit of this approach is that it gives in-depth knowledge and insights to make remarkable changes in the subject syllabus.

Last but not the least, we equip our students with knowledge of industry-related tools, resources and technologies and also educate them about different softwares, databases and online learning platforms so that they can develop necessary practical skills in them before they step into the real world.
