Being the Founder Secretary of Al Iqra Teacher’s Training College, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
We provide leadership skills and training at our college. Basically, we are trying to develop leadership qualities among our students, be it at school or in the classroom. Teachers are the change agents of society. Our purpose is to make a teacher the best version of themselves for either society, state or nation. My leadership is a purely democratic one. Our institution is Jharkhand's first teacher education university established in the year 2000 and continues to provide our services to date and beyond.
What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?
Keeping the number of literate individuals in society in mind, one of my primary responsibilities is to increase that number. I felt that I needed to do something to improve the state of education, which was already backwards previously. It was the right time to establish this institute.
What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?
Our college has the highest number of seats, which is 150, which makes the institution extraordinary. The highest educational course here is the postgraduate one but we are also planning to come up with the PhD courses as well. We have NAAC accreditation also being a key factor and we have the best of the industry working as our important resources. The organization of PhD programs is in swing and we invite applicants for the course. During the breaks given during examinations, we provide crash courses and doubt sessions for their outstanding performance.
What were the changes you observed during the pandemic and how education industry was affected and how you and your college came up to solve the issues?
Our college was the first one to start online classes during the pandemic, in our region. It was probably done in the easiest manner possible due to the support and efforts of the teachers as well as the technical team. We developed for the better and national seminars were conducted during the pandemic phase through this mode. So now that things are normal we invite the students to join, as they are metals whom we polish for the best.

What do you see as AITTC’s greatest strengths?
The teachers, along with the management here have a great way of managing a lot of things. Additionally, their teaching experience adds to the college's excellence. These, when combined with our students, would be our biggest strengths.
What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for AITTC?
Initially, the days were tough for us as everyone was unaware of the program, syllabus, inspection, courses and many more undefined things in the system. Each day is a new challenge and the world is quite dynamic. The problem of employment is a big issue these days and the government should look into this. We, too, are trying hard and discussing the problems faced.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
The main motive of the students approaching here is to become good teachers and bring positive changes to society. Employability is an aspect too, there are enough career options, like teaching online, if we look from a global perspective. Adequate knowledge and better education are very necessary.
What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for AITTC international affairs and/or students?
We are planning to start M.Ed. programs which are presently not offered in many colleges in the region. We are continuously working on the development of the courses, for which we are working with different international societies to arrange seminars, workshops and different developmental programs. This is being done so that we can improve the quality of the education that we are providing.
What are the placement opportunities that are available for the students of your college?
Speaking of placements, our students can become teachers and even principals of B.Ed. colleges, which is a great achievement for all of us. Some of our students are serving as principals of Government schools, some are in the administration department, and some are associated with the central government as well.
