What keeps you connected with the education sector and how has your experience been so far with the institute?

From 1995 to 2023, I have been dedicated to serving in the education sector. Since 2011, I have held the position of director in several institutes. My extensive experience allows me to effectively connect with students, who continually impress me with their innovative ideas. Engaging with the younger generation keeps me feeling youthful, and the reciprocal learning between us is invaluable. When interacting with students, I not only contribute my knowledge but also gain insights from their perspectives. 

Serving in education feels like a contribution to society, as education is a tool that empowers all members, irrespective of gender. Having personally faced challenges as a woman during my education, my primary goal is to promote education for women in the institutes I serve. In my current institute, I have experienced a sense of freedom and have been granted 100% authority to shape our educational approach as I see fit. I take pride in this autonomy and am grateful for the positive experiences I have had in this institution.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

My leadership philosophy revolves around ensuring that students, who are the ultimate beneficiaries of education, are equipped with knowledge, values, and skills. If our university syllabus falls short or proves resistant to change, I advocate for the introduction of certification courses or similar initiatives. The goal is to ensure that students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also understand and develop practical skills. To achieve this, I have implemented various activities within the organization, including a range of certification courses aimed at enhancing students' skills. I strongly believe in the importance of a value system and aim to instil qualities such as honesty and hard work in my students. These values are integral to their overall development and success.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure best practices?

We are bound by the DAVV syllabus for exams, and changing it is not within our control. However, our emphasis is on providing practical exposure for every topic covered in the syllabus. While theories form the foundation, we recognize that their implementation varies in the current era. Consequently, our focus is on preparing students for the real world by imparting not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills that align with the demands of the contemporary landscape.

Our institute is committed to societal service through education. Our mission centres on providing holistic support for students, ensuring their overall growth and development.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

In my role as a director, I oversee both administration and academics. I am responsible for ensuring the comfort of students in all subjects. While university results are significant, I equally prioritize providing practical exposure to a well-rounded education.

What do you think should be the institute's top priority over the next 10 years?

Over the next 10 years, our institute aims to align with industry needs through industry-ready programs. Recognizing the gap between academic offerings and industry requirements, our focus is on developing a curriculum that seamlessly bridges this divide. Our goal is to ensure that what we teach directly translates to practical implementation in industries.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

Certainly, I would like to advise today's youth that with knowledge, values, skills, and a positive attitude, you can reach great heights. With a well-thought-out plan, you can achieve your goals.
