A teacher by heart, Mr Mohit Yadav is the Director and President of Annie Besant Group and Krishna Group of Institutes in Indore and Renaissance University Indore. Mr Yadav is an alumnus of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar School Indore. He did his undergraduate studies in Computer Science from DAVV and postgraduate in Computer Science from the School of Computer Science as a DRDO scholar followed by a degree in management from IMS DAVV Indore. Additionally, he is a Microsoft-certified professional and currently pursuing his PhD in Management.
In recognition of innovative practices in the school curriculum, Mr Yadav was awarded the 2nd Excellence in Education Award 2022 for by the President of Mauritius in 2022. He has also received the Eminence Award 2022 by Dainik Bhaskar in New Delhi and the Shri Nitin Gadkari Central Minister of Road and Transport School Leader Award in the Sri Lankan School Education Department for his work in the school education sector in March 2022. The latter award was given by the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.
He is also the recipient of the Shri S.K. Joshi Memorial Award for Principal of the Year 2022 by Sandipani Education Group. In the same year, he received the IFDC for inspiring creative thinking and educating students in the field of Fashion and Interior Design at Indore in June 2022. Mr Yadav represented India on behalf of the SEPC Council of India at the CIFITS fair in China in 2019.
In 2016, he was the recipient of the Hindi Sahitya Samiti for the promotion of Hindi literature in schools by the Jain Group for being an eminent educationist. The following year, Mr Yadav was awarded the Leading Education Group of MP by the Chief Minister of MP and the School Leader Award and the School Star Award in 2018.
He has held the position of Chairperson of Indore Sahodaya School Complex for the year 2018-19 and the post of Secretary in the year 2017-18. Currently, he is also the Treasurer of the Association of Unaided CBSE Schools of MP. He has taken numerous faculty training sessions meant for school and college teachers with the aim of polishing his craft.
With 23 years of experience in the field of education and software development, he has worked as a trainer for CDAC and has given training in IT to defence personnel at MHOW. Mr Yadav has authored over 12 books on different subjects of computer science in English and Hindi and is among the first few trainers in the field of IT who has written course books in computer science subjects in Hindi.
He is a dedicated career counsellor who has guided over 5000 students to date regarding career and course selections. Towards, this end, he has been honoured with the title of Career Guru by MY FM and gave a live show on the FM channel for two consecutive years regarding career guidance. Moreover, he is a member of the Rastriya Swayam Sevak Sangh where he holds a position in Sampark Vibhag at the Indore level.
You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
I have always seen my father and mother as my role model. Both of them were teachers by heart and have been educating students since 1975. I have seen them working as teachers since my childhood which inspired me to become a teacher. I started teaching right after completing my graduation and decided to make a career in it. The most important fact that keeps me connected with this field is that it keeps me young as I am always interacting with the youth. Not only are they learning from us but I am learning from them too.
Being the Principal of Annie Besant College, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
Being the Director of Annie Besant College, my philosophy of leadership revolves around encouraging and fostering the growth of my faculty members and the students. I motivate them to aim big and keep moving forward no matter the situation. You can say my style of leadership is to be progressive, optimistic and have a forward thinking approach.
The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?
Indeed, the academic structure of India and foreign countries have distinct structures. At Annie Besant College we make sure that student gets all the right knowledge and skills as per industry demands and requirements, university standards and examination expectations. We also make sure that our students are getting exposure to modern education techniques and practical learning to be on par with students from foreign countries.

How does the curriculum Annie Besant College ensure the best practice of industry?
At Annie Besant College, we follow the curriculum laid down by DAVV University. However, we go beyond the curriculum and give practical knowledge and industrial exposure by regularly taking our students on field trips, educational tours, industrial tours etc. Here, they get first-hand experience in how the industry works and what is expected out of them. Additionally, we prepare them to possess 21st-century skills like critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration, etc through various events, games and activities that make studying fun and students learn how to work together with their classmates.

As the director of the college, I believe I am responsible for all matters in the college, its people and all stakeholders of the college. Especially, we ensure that they get what they have come for and more at Annie Besant College.
What would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?
I would like people to know that Annie Besant College is a place where every student gets to fulfil their dreams. We ensure that our students get the right guidance for their studies and careers. For all this, we have established a state-of-the-art infrastructure in the heart of the city. We also have numerous activities for students to learn practically. We hold personality grooming and communication classes for developing soft skills along with the technical skills of the students. I believe our strength lies in our focused approach towards each students’ career development. We concentrate on building up the confidence of our students while at our college. Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
I would suggest students to prepare themselves with a global perspective. It is essential to broaden their horizons and be open to new experiences and cultures. Learn skills that are in demand at present. Develop a critical mindset while also being analytical and a strong communicator. Introspect about what one’s passions and interests lie in and pursue that. With the right mindset, skills and passion, success anyone can have a fulfilling and successful career.
