Dr. T. Srikanth is working as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of CSE (Data Science) at Malla Reddy Institute of Technology and Science. He received his Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from SSSUTMS University, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He did his B.Tech & M.Tech with a specialization in Computer Science and Engineering and Software Engineering respectively. He has a total of 15+ years of experience in teaching. He has published 18 papers in peer-reviewed National and International journals and conferences. He has a hold over 2 patents and 1 Book. His research interests include Computer Networks, Data mining and Data science. He is a Lifetime member of the Indian Society for Technology Education (ISTE), Life Membership No: LM115041. He has held different academic positions like NBA Coordinator, Head of the Department, Examination branch In charge and Spot Coordinator.

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/dept. which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

Malla Reddy Institute of Technology and Science is offering several new programs in the emerging fields of technology. These include CSE(Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), CSE(Data Science) and CSE(Cyber Security). These courses help the students to stay in the competitive industry for over two decades. 


What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?

By gaining expertise in the above courses, the student can settle well in diversified fields of technology. We have been seeing several challenges due to cyber crimes around the globe and round the clock in which a Cyber security course helps them to develop solutions for all such threats. Robo technology has penetrated into various fields such as medicine, hospitality and many more. Interested aspirants can join AIML. Data Science has become a tool in our daily lives while ordering items or doing transactions. It has a bigger scope in the future and hence is highly preferred by the students.


What will you say the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

All the students are given hands-on experience in the laboratories on a regular basis. Advanced teaching modes such as ICT as well as Interactive board-based teaching are in practice at MRITS. Encouraging students to opt for internships and designing in-house projects on present-day industry-based technology is the biggest best practice in the institution.


What are some valuable insights into the program that you are offering at your institute/dept.?

All the new courses will cover newer technologies that are evolving globally. Relevant software and infrastructure have been provided by the institute. Our laboratories are open for an extended time. We have a very high scope for serving society technologically.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

These courses were all introduced recently by AICTE in India by keeping in view the technocrats can have a great future globally for the next few decades. Hence, they are certainly a golden opportunity for our students.


How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

Our college itself organizes faculty development programs by inviting industry experts as resource persons. Our faculty members attend FDPs & STTP conducted elsewhere. Further, they follow NPTEL video lectures and international lectures through online mode to update their knowledge about the new courses prevailing in society.


How do you tend to build an industry connection with this program?

We are tying up with some of the industries that are doing consultancy projects on global platforms. We arrange frequent lecture sessions by experts from such industries. In addition, we design a special subject with contents related to these courses to make the students industry-ready.


What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program into your curriculum?

Anticipating the future requirements to design the curriculum was the biggest challenge. However, this was overcome by properly forming the Board of Studies Committee as a combination of experts from academia and industry.


What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

Projects are being done in multidisciplinary tasks. They cover fields such as banking, digital currency, healthcare, farming and many more.


What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

Getting a job in a multinational company is very easy for any student after pursuing this course. They can also aim for higher education either in India or abroad. In any case, the settlement is certain.
