What challenges does the ECE department face, and what strategies have been implemented to address them?
Introducing any new course is a challenge for the first time. As we don't know how the students will grasp that particular course even though prerequisites are covered before. Department maintains a good account of industry MOU and professional membership, through which the sufficient guest Lecture and workshops will be conducted for the newly introduced course. The department always assigns the same team of faculty for the second time to rectify the difficulties encountered during implementation. The curriculum revision which happens every two years always helps in closing the loops and that will be done by including all the stakeholders.
How does the department ensure the quality of education and adherence to academic standards?
Department prepared and maintained a quality policy of education based on stakeholders input. Lectures will be limited to 50 to 60 minutes maximum, where two stretch breaks will be given in between. To avoid monotony, we have incorporated games in the form of interactive technical quizzes to retain the attention of students. Sufficient time will be given at the end of the class for discussion and doubts clearance. A doubts forum was created where students can drop their questions and it will be answered and shared among the entire class. Class lectures and class notes were shared via the Canvas platform. Incorporated sufficient simulation experiments to complement the theory classes. Recorded lectures were made available to students via facultyYouTube channel and NPTEL Videos. Students work on a variety of projects in all the core verticals of the department. They work on both hardware and software-based research projects which will always result in good research publications and patents. Our alumni are serving the country in various civil services positions and Research and Development divisions, also our alumni playing a vital role in top MNCs all over the world.
What are the department's plans and aspirations for the future?
We give full support to our students to turn their dreams into reality. Providing a healthy, competitive and trustworthy environment to our students is our culture. AVNIET is not only an institute but a brand with in-house leadership, supported to give its students immense freedom to explore their thoughts and passion to realize their dreams. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to understand electronics and communication engineering. Design and conduct experiments to analyze and interpret data gathered. Develop leadership in multi-disciplinary teams. Understand ethical and professional responsibility. Transformation of engineering education from syllabus-based learning to the experiential learning paradigm is our department motto.
