New Delhi: Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash has declared in a meet that the students who have dropped out of Class 10 BSE Board Exams will be able to sit for the supplementary exam.
BSE Odisha Class 10 Exam are being conducted from March 10- March 20, 2023. As per local media, a total of 13,508 students have dropped out of the BSE Odisha Matric Exams this year.
The state education minister has declared that these students will be given a second chance to complete their class 10 Matriculation Exam. They will have to sit for the supplementary Exam conducted later in the year. He has further said that a discussion will be held with the parents of the students so that they can appear and utilise the supplementary exam.
“Over 5.71 lakh students had appeared for matric exams in 2021-22, out of which 45,000 students did not appear, which was 7.7 percent of the total. As far as this year is concerned, the dropout percent till now is 2.5 percent,” stated Samir Ranjan Dash.
The dates for the supplementary exam will be declared later by the Board. In response to questions raised during the assembly session, Dash further said that government and BSE officials will look into the matter of dropout rate and find the reason behind it.
