The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has announced the schedule for the 3rd Round of Online Counselling for vacant Post Graduate seats in Government Medical Colleges and B.B.C.I., Guwahati.
The process begins with Online Registration, which will be active from January 3 to January 5, 2026, ending at midnight. Following registration, the Choice Filling window opens on January 6 and remains available until 5:00 PM on January 7. Candidates must ensure they lock their choices on January 7 between 4:00 PM and 11:55 PM, as the system will automatically lock any unlocked choices after this period.
The Seat Allotment process will occur from January 8 to January 10, with the official Results being declared on January 11, 2026. Finally, selected candidates must report to their respective institutions for Admission between January 16 and January 17, 2026.

How to Check the Assam NEET PG 2025 Round 3 Notification and Results?
Candidates can monitor their progress and check for official updates by following these steps:
- Visit the Official Portal: The student should navigate to the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, at www.dme.assam.gov.in.
- Locate the "Latest" Section: On the homepage, they should look for the "Documents" or "Latest News" section, specifically filtering for Post Graduate Medical Education.
- Download the Allotment List: On January 11, 2026, a PDF link containing the "College-wise and Subject-wise List of Provisionally Selected Candidates" will be published.
- Verify Personal Details: The candidate must search for their NEET PG 2025 Roll Number within the list to confirm if they have received a fresh allotment or an upgrade.

Depending on their current status, candidates should take the following actions:
Phase 1: Registration and Choice Filling (Jan 3 – Jan 7)
- New Applicants: If a candidate has not registered in previous rounds but is on the state merit list, they must complete the Online Registration between January 3 and January 5.
- Existing Candidates: Those already registered for Round 1 or 2 do not need to register again. They should log in directly on January 6 to participate in Choice Filling.
- Prioritize Choices: The student should carefully list their preferred colleges and subjects. It is vital to lock the choices on January 7 between 4:00 PM and 11:55 PM; otherwise, the system will lock the last saved preferences automatically.
Phase 2: After the Result (Jan 11 – Jan 17)
- Download Allotment Letter: Once the result is declared on January 11, the selected candidate must download their provisional allotment letter from the DME portal.
- Prepare Documentation: They should gather all original documents, including the NEET PG 2025 admit card, score card, MBBS degree certificate, and internship completion certificate.
- Physical Reporting: The candidate must visit their allotted medical college in person on January 16 or January 17, 2026, to complete the admission formalities and pay the required fees.
Note: Failure to report to the allotted institution within the specified dates will result in the forfeiture of the seat.
This round is open to candidates who have met the NEET PG 2025 cut-off and are listed in the State Provisional Merit List. Those who have already registered for the first or second rounds do not need to register again; they can proceed directly to choice filling for fresh allotments or college upgrades.
