The Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune, has opened its admission portal for the academic year 2026-27. Aspiring engineers who are children of serving or retired Army personnel can now apply for the undergraduate technical programs. The online application process for AIT Pune B.Tech Admission started on February 16, 2026. Interested candidates must submit their completed application forms by April 15, 2026, to avoid any late fees.

AIT Pune BTech Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission, a candidate must meet the following requirements:

• Parental Background: The applicant must be a ward of serving or retired Army personnel (with a minimum of 10 years of service) or a ward of a War Widow.
• Educational Qualification: He/she must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science.
• Minimum Marks: A minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying subjects is required.
• Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen or a PIO who has obtained Indian citizenship.

AIT Pune BTech Admission 2026 Selection Process

Admission to AIT Pune is strictly based on merit. The selection is determined by:

1. JEE Main 2026 Rank: The institute uses the All India Rank (AIR) obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) conducted by the NTA.
2. Additional Weightage: Extra weightage is given to wards of Gallantry Award winners, disabled soldiers, and War Widows as per the institute's norms.
3. Counselling: Shortlisted candidates based on the AIT Merit List will be called for the online/offline counselling process.
