AIIMS Bhopal has started accepting applications for its PhD Admission January 2026 session, and candidates must submit both the online form and the offline application by December 10, 2025. The institute will conduct the entrance exam for eligible applicants on December 15, while interview dates will be announced on the official website. The prospectus also confirms the updated fee structure for selected students for the 2026 academic cycle.
What are the available PhD seats at AIIMS Bhopal?
AIIMS Bhopal offers seats under Category A (Stipend seats) and Category B (Own Fellowship/Sponsored/In-service).
- Category A: 3 seats across Translational Medicine and Biochemistry projects, each offering a monthly fellowship of ₹33,557-₹33,600.
- Category B: Seats available in Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, and Pharmacology.

How to submit the application form?
Candidates must submit the form in two modes:
- Online submission using the official Google Form link.
- Offline submission by sending the signed application form via Speed Post/by hand to the Office of Registrar by Dec 10, 2025, 5 PM.
The application fee is ₹1000 for General/OBC/EWS, while SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted.
For Category A candidates, the entrance process will be held in offline mode and the written exam is scheduled for December 15, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The test carries 80 MCQ marks, followed by a 20-mark interview, and candidates must score at least 50% to qualify for the interview stage.
The written exam will cover Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Aptitude, General Knowledge, and Research Methodology, and the interview schedule will be announced on the official website. For Category B candidates, there is no written test, and they will be assessed only through a 100-mark interview, with a qualifying cut-off of 50% as per the official prospectus.
Applicants must meet the eligibility rules stated in the prospectus, which include having a recognised medical qualification such as MBBS, MD, MS, BDS and similar degrees, or an M.Sc Nursing qualification approved by the Indian Nursing Council. Candidates from non-medical backgrounds can also apply if they hold a Master’s degree in Life Sciences or Non-Life Sciences with at least 55% marks in their qualifying examination.
The institute clearly mentions that distance-learning degrees are not accepted, and applicants who are currently employed in government or autonomous organisations must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer before appearing for the selection process.
