AICTE Allows BTech BE Degrees For Working Professionals

New Delhi: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has allowed people to study B.Tech and BE degrees from AICTE approved colleges and institutions while continuing with their job. This provides a way for working people to keep learning and improve their professional skills.

AICTE has asked colleges and institutes to offer B.Tech and BE courses to working professionals. These courses will start from the academic year of 2023-24. The step was taken to help working people continue with their education and also to help students who cannot afford higher technical education fees.

AICTE Approved Engineering Colleges in India

According to Hindustan Times, Technical schools connected to the All India Council for Technical Education can now offer B.Tech and B.E. courses to working professionals. They have asked these schools to apply and start these courses from the current academic session. It also stated that the technical schools shall have the liberty to decide the mode of conduct of examination, whether online or offline, timetable, and schedules. Working professionals can only take admissions into this program after taking an undertaking from their employer or organization.

The courses will be designed to be convenient for students and institutions, with flexible timings and ways of teaching, either online or offline. Only working professionals from recognized industries or organizations can join these programs, and they will need to get permission from their employers.

AICTE will approve a maximum of three programs per institute, with 30 seats available in each program. To start a course, there should be a minimum of 10 working professionals in a batch. Preference will be given to courses focusing on upcoming technologies.
