Ahmedabad University Honored for Teaching and Learning Excellence at THE Awards Asia 2023

New Delhi: Ahmedabad University has received commendation as a Highly Commended University for its Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2023. 

This acknowledgement is attributed to Ahmedabad University's distinctive research-pedagogy design and innovative learning initiatives, notably the Foundation Programme, Engagement and Application Based Learning and Education (ENABLE), and Independent Study Period.

All incoming undergraduate students undergo the foundational curriculum known as the Foundation Programme, which serves as the bedrock of interdisciplinary education, addressing societal issues through project-based learning. 

This program revolves around six domains essential for modern academic and life skills in the 21st century, focusing on innovative areas shaping the world and perspectives crucial for responsible societal engagement.

ENABLE constitutes an experiential learning method that employs a dynamic classroom approach, enabling the practical application of theoretical concepts to real-world challenges via industry projects. 

The University hosts an interactive winter term known as the Independent Study Period, allowing students to enroll in courses provided by experts, practitioners, and pioneers across diverse fields, expanding beyond their chosen discipline. 

This period encourages students to explore their passions, transcending traditional classroom settings and making their academic learning truly interdisciplinary while enhancing experiential conceptual understanding.
