75% Students in IIM kashipur's MBA Programme are Working Professionals; Check Details Here

New Delhi: Among the IIMs, IIM Kashipur has distinguished itself with a unique characteristic -75% of students of its MBA program are working professionals. A total of 261 students, admitted to the MBA program batch have work experience.

According to IIM Kashipur, 321 of 126 students have 12-24 months of work experience, while 116 students have more than 24 months of work experience and 19 have 6-12 months of experience. Only 60 students are freshers, it added.

50% of Students from Engineering Background

The data also shows that 50% of students have an engineering background. Out of the total students, 170 come from an engineering background, 151 from a non-engineering background, and the gender imbalance is evident with only 62 students, comprising 19%, being girls, according to the data.

In the MBA Analytics 2023-25 batch, 39 students have 24 months, of experience, 48 students have 12-24 months of experience, and 11 students have 6-12 months of experience. Within a cohort of 170 students, just 72 are freshers, with 81 students having non-engineering backgrounds and 89 possessing engineering degrees.

Abhradeep Maiti, Chairperson, Admission, IIM Kashipur, said, “IIM Kashipur is becoming the choice for working executives as it has specifically devised an environment for professionals. The institute offers 10 points weightage to students with work experience.”

Highest Package of INR 37 LPA Received

Regarding placements, the institute reported an average salary package of Rs 18.11 lakh per annum for this year, marking a 19% increase from the previous year's placement drive. The highest package reached Rs 37 lakh per annum (LPA), reflecting a 28% growth compared to the previous placement season.

It added that the median salary package was Rs 17.2 lakh per annum, a year-on-year growth of 16 percent. “The top 10 percent of the batch bagged an average CTC of Rs 28.5 LPA, for the top 20 percent,” IIM Kashipur added.
