Delft University of Technology Rankings 2026: Methodology, Global and Subject-wise Trends

• Most graduates from Construction Management and Engineering secure jobs within 3-6 months after graduating.
• Average starting salary is 2800-3500 euros monthly (can fluctuate). graduates who continue in consultancy or research positions may earn slightly less initially, while those in private construction or engineering sectors may start higher.
• Most students find jobs through internships completed during the thesis phase, networking and referrals from supervisors.
   

• Couldn’t find accommodation through the university, so looked for accommodation outside with other indians through whatsapp groups.
• Found accommodation from websites like housinganywhere.
• Monthly rent is about 850 including electricity bills water bills, and wifi
• Have to pay tax separately
• A lot of scammers out there, so never pay upfront before signing the contract

• That depends on the course that you are pursuing. Some master programs find it easier than others to find a job. I have seen civil engineers (including me) find jobs with more relative ease than some other tracks.
• 3000-3500 euros/month.
• There are career fairs. But these are not campus placements. You can go and speak to representatives of company and see if it aligns with your requirements.
• Career fairs are also a great source of networking. Apart from this knowing seniors working at a company can be helpful. LinkedIn message also can help. Sometimes professor contact with industry can be utilised too.

• Finding accommodation can be challenging. I found mine through university portal. This is the easiest way. But this FCFS. The earlier you pay tuition fees the quicker you get access to this portal. Other wise you have to look through Fb groups and some websites.
• There are scam postings also on FB. My monthly rent was 524 euros (effecftively 430 euros). It was a studio. It had a kitchen with few utensils (which u pay for) , bed, toilet, bathroom, study table etc

You get a lot of research opportunities. WO masters program is a research based program and HBO is an industry based masters program. For post placements, we get ? 2,600-3000 per month. Searching job in Netherlands takes time. There are no campus placements. Wehave job fares where companies come and tell about what they do and then we have to apply on our own. The top companies that recruit are Atom Chemicals, Shell, Schlumberger, DSM, etc.

I did a bit of research. I also had a few seniors over here so, I knew about it.

There is no placement opportunity as such. At the end of the bachelor's program (in the third year) there is a compulsory bachelor's end project as part of the curriculum where you will get research opportunities. After that, you have to be self-reliant.

Ranking within top 100 in the world, high research output, good professors who did PhD and post-docs in reputed colleges, including ivy league colleges, affordable education, competitive environment, international-friendly place to live in, no language barrier, large indian community, BSA requirement which increases the standard of education, courses taught in english, offers a challenging honours program in the second year and minor abroad opportunity in the third year for students with good study progress, courses are challenging and not a cake-walk

It was easy to get a job in your relevant field (pre-covid), however, you have to learn Dutch (the local language). It is possible to live without learning the language as almost everyone speaks English. But as an unstated rule, industries prefer people who speak the language proficiently. As far as research is concerned, it is possible to get a Ph.D but dutch isn't a must. One can look for opportunities in The Netherlands as well as 21 Schengen countries including Germany, France, etc. A fresher who is unmarried and is less than 30 years, will be paid 2400 euros/month (take home after taxes), for a job and 1800/month (after tax) for a PhD. Technically, you are on your own to find jobs. There are no placements as you find in Indian universities. But job markets are arranged for students. Rest are in the hands of students to get contact and interviews.

The university ranks no.1 in the QS world ranking for water management courses. That's the reason for my application to this university. Monetary-wise, the expenses are less when compared to the USA and Australia (Where I had my other admissions from). My interest always lied in wastewater treatment and reuse. Hence, I really wanted to do masters in this stream. Politically as well, The Netherlands has zero racism. You are allowed to be yourself without people judging you. The crime rates are so less that they are starting to close prisons. It was also one of the key parameters in choosing the university.

There are events where companies come to tell about themselves. In general, you yourself have to approach the companies and universities you are interested in. There are no university placement services as such, but you get different trainings for interviewing, CV writing, Motivation letter writing, etc. You can also book slots with counsellors to practice 1-on-1 interviewing. There are advertisements and opportunities highlighted by the university and professors for job and research positions, for which you have to apply and follow through the company process. I would advice to start looking early and don't hesitate to apply.

Among the 'space' related specializations offered, this university had the top rank. I focussed on non-USA universities only, because space field coming under the purview of defence in USA, thus restricting job opportunities for non-citizens.
