Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) fees for international students vary according to study level. Annual tuition fees remain the same for all programs at each study level. TU Delft classifies fees in two categories: statutory rate and institutional rate. All non-Dutch/ EU/EEA, Swiss, and Surinamese international students (including India) are required to pay as per the institutional rate.

For Indian students, the annual tuition fees are:

• 25,633 EUR (27.95 lakhs INR) for MSc courses
• 19,906 EUR (21.71 lakhs INR) for BSc courses

In addition to the tuition fees, Indian students must budget for the cost of living. According to TU Delft, the estimated annual cost of living in Delft is 14,200 EUR (15.48 lakhs INR), including accommodation rent, food, utilities, and personal expenses. What is the Transitional Institutional Rate at TU Delft?

The transitional institutional rate applies only if you stay continuously in the same program for a certain period of time. If you take a break or change programs, these rates no longer apply, and normal tuition rules will be used.

• If you started a Bachelor’s program at TU Delft in 2025-26 and paid 17,310 EUR (18.87 lakhs INR), your tuition will increase to 18,175 EUR (19.82 lakhs INR) for 2026-27 and 2027-28, and to 19,084 EUR (20.81 lakhs INR) for 2028-29, as long as you stay in the same program without breaks.
• If you did a Dutch preparatory language year linked to a 2025-26 Bachelor’s application, you will pay 18,175 EUR (19.82 lakhs INR) for 2026-27 and 2027-28, and 19,084 EUR (20.81 lakhs INR) for 2028-29 and 2029-30, if you continue in the same program.
• If you started a Master’s program in 2025-26 and paid 22,290 EUR (24.31 lakhs INR), you will pay 23,404 EUR (25.52 lakhs INR) for re-enrolment up to 31 August 2028, as long as you stay in the same program.

TU Delft Tuition Fee Payment: Key Rules & Deadlines

TU Delft has strict rules and timelines for paying tuition fees, and meeting these deadlines is essential to secure your enrollment and to start the visa process.

Payment Deadlines:

• 1 July: For first-year students with a non-Dutch qualification and students who need a visa/ residence permit or TU Delft housing support.
• 31 August: For all other students starting or continuing in September.

Payment Methods

• You can pay via digital direct debit from a SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) bank account (checking account only).
• Direct debit is not allowed if you need visa/residence permit help or TU Delft housing.
• Indian students must pay using a bank transfer. The total amount payable (including any bank charges) should be transferred to the TU Delft bank account number.

TU Delft allows paying the tuition fees in 9 installments, via the direct debit method. As Indian students are not allowed to use direct debit, they are directed to pay the total amount at once using the bank transfer method.

How the Fee Payment Works at TU Delft?

To study at TU Delft, students need to transfer the total amount, including tuition fees and living expenses, at the time of enrollment. Your residence permit application (visa application) will only be submitted after this payment is received by TU Delft. Then, the living costs will be refunded after the start of the academic year, once you have opened your Dutch bank account.

Here’s how it works:

• Make one payment covering your first year tuition fees, living costs, and the non- refundable IND (Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst, the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service) visa application fee.
• After that, the visa application is submitted
• Once approved, you must visit TU Delft and enroll in the course
• Then, open a Dutch bank account
• Get the refund for living costs
