The rate is the same whether your bachelor’s is in engineering, commerce, finance, economics, business or management. It does not change by test centre or state.

What the dMAT fee covers

The dMAT fee covers your Core Module, Subject Module, test centre slot, digital delivery and one official certificate. Nothing else sits inside the EUR 150 charge. The Core Module tests logical reasoning, numerical ability and pattern spotting across three subtests. The Subject Module tests how you apply those skills to your degree area.

What the fee gives you:

What the fee does not cover:

• APS certificate charges of INR 18,000, a separate payment to APS India
• Travel to your test centre or any overnight stay
• Prep material, mock tests or coaching classes
• Result review, appeal or any retake charges

If your bachelor’s falls in engineering or business, then the dMAT fee is a mandatory line item. That means budgeting for it before you file APS.

How to pay dMAT exam fees

You pay the dMAT exam fees online through the g.a.s.t. participant portal at the moment you register. Registration is only confirmed after the fee lands. No booking is held on trust. The portal accepts electronic payment methods. 

Step-by-step payment flow

1. Create an account on the dMAT participant portal at d-mat.de.
2. Fill in your degree stream and pick your preferred Indian test centre.
3. Move to the payment screen and select credit card or direct debit.
4. Complete the EUR 150 transaction. The system emails your booking receipt.
5. Download your admit slip closer to the test date from the same portal.

Indian credit cards work if they are enabled for international transactions. Check the daily card limit before you start. A failed transaction blocks the seat until you retry.

Refund rules for dMAT exam fees

The dMAT exam fees are refundable only if you cancel within 14 days of your online registration. This 14-day window is your legal consumer cancellation right under German law. If you deregister after the 14-day window but before the September 15 deadline, g.a.s.t. still processes a refund. The refund comes minus an administrative fee of up to 15% of the paid amount. Deregistration is only possible through the dMAT participant portal, not through APS India.

Miss the registration deadline, skip the exam or leave mid-test, and the fee is fully lost. There is no partial refund and no rollover to a later sitting. You also cannot transfer your paid seat to another applicant.

Extra costs beyond dMAT fee

Beyond dMAT exam fees, Indian applicants pay APS charges of INR 18,000, plus prep material, travel and later a visa stack. Treat the EUR 150 as one line in a much longer spend list. Prep books and mock tests can add INR 3,000 to INR 8,000. Travel to a distant test centre may cost INR 2,000 to INR 10,000 with one night’s stay. Coaching, if you take it, sits between INR 10,000 and INR 25,000 depending on the institute.
