Colleges Where I Was Accepted

Reason for choosing my college

  • After looking at and matching the curriculum for the same course in many different universities, I thought the curriculum of Kedge aligned more with what I was looking for. In the 1st year, there was good focus on developing hard skills as well as soft skills, which I believed was very different in comparison to other universities.
  • Also, the curriculum included 6-7 months of continuous studies and 5-6 months of mandatory internship, which, in my opinion, is really good so that you can apply the theoretical knowledge that was gained during the studies and apply it to the real world as soon as possible.
  • Also, the fees were not very high and it came in the Top 10 rankings in France and the Top 40 in Europe, which was one of the main factors for me to consider Kedge over other colleges.

Tips to enhance your application

  • Just make a good CV and motivation letter on why you are interested in joining Kedge and the program you are planning to do. I would recommend not using AI for this and using your own brain. Don't say the rankings of the school is one of the main factors in your motivation letter.

Admission Experience

  • France is one of the best countries to live in because of the good standard of living, beautiful cities and towns, and open-minded and kind people. If you live in cities other than Paris, the cost of living will be very low, which makes it one of the most affordable countries, and also the education system of France is one of the best in the whole world.
  • KEDGE Business School comes in as one of the top 10 business schools in France and top 40 in whole Europe, which makes it one of the best business schools. Kedge offers a lot of specialized programs in MSc as well as MIM, which is very reputable not only in France but also all over Europe. I did the 1st year of my master's at the Kedge Marseille campus and the 2nd year at the Kedge Paris campus.
  • There are a lot of career opportunities in France but only if you can speak French fluently or at a C1/C2 level; otherwise, there is a lot of struggle to find jobs/internships if you don't speak French.
  • My experience at the Marseille campus was really, really good; it is one of the best campuses and there's everything available at the campus, from 3-4 canteens to ATMs, sports facilities, etc. There are various associations at the Kedge Marseille campus that you can join; however, the Kedge Paris campus is not that great yet, as it was recently opened in 2020 so the campus is very small and there is a limited number of things that you can do there.

Class Schedule

8

  • Usually classes are 5 days a week from Monday to Friday. The timings of classes vary, but usually it starts at 8:30 AM and finishes at 7:30 PM if there are 3 classes in a day. Each class lasts 3 hours and 15 minutes, which includes a 15-minute break in the middle and a lunch break from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM.
  • At the Bordeaux and Marseille campuses, the class size is around 40 and at the Paris campus, it is 50-60. In my 1st year, I was the only Indian in my class and in my 2nd year, there are 7 Indians, including me, in my class. Education is not that strict in France so you have to spend very little time for self-study and assignments but it also depends from programme to programme.

Faculty

7

  • The faculty-to-student ratio, I'd say, is average—not too low, not too high. At the Marseille campus, the faculties' approachability is very easy. The student office at the Marseille campus is the best, in my opinion. If you have any kind of doubts or problems, you can approach them, and they will try their best to help you out; they can help you with finding Part-time jobs.

Campus Life

9

  • In France, Kedge has 4 campuses: Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux and Toulon. However, they also have some campuses in China and a couple of countries in Africa. There's a library and bubble rooms in all the campuses; in the Marseille campus, there is even a space where you can take a nap. There are a lot of associations for different kinds of activities like sports, parties, local tours and meetups, etc.

Part Time Jobs

  • Usually Indians find part-time work in Indian restaurants where they get paid very little according to minimum wage. But some Indians also find jobs at pizzerias and other French restaurants. It is a bit difficult to find part-time jobs in Marseille if you don't speak French; however, you can easily find babysitting jobs in Paris in English. Some offers are available online but you usually have to go from restaurant to restaurant and give your CVs.
  • I'm not sure about the on-campus part-time offers, but you can find part-time work in restaurants, cafes and bars, although it will be a bit hard if you don't speak French, especially in Marseille and Bordeaux. The minimum wage rate is 11.5 euros per hour but usually you will find part-time work which will pay less than this. A person is allowed to work 964 hours in a year on a student visa in France so around 20 hours a week.

Placement

2

  • 99% secure jobs within 6 months from graduation and the average salary is 44,000 Euros annually.
  • Students usually find jobs through LinkedIn.
  • The lowest salary offered is 2000 euros a month, which is 24000 euros annually and I'm not sure about the highest salary but I think it is 3500-4000 euros a month for an international student.

Accommodation

Off Campus
7

  • There are online platforms like roomlala, studapart, appartager where you can find accommodations, but you can approach the housing department of KEDGE to help you find an accommodation. Usually kedge has partnerships with student accommodations, especially in Marseille and Bordeaux, where you can find a room but you should book 5-6 months in advance.
