Feedback of an MSc International Business Student at KEDGE Business School

Prior to being accepted to KEDGE, I was on the waitlist at ESSEC for both the Luxury and Brand Management programs. Due to my lack of marketing experience and language skills, NEOMA rejected my application. Additionally, I was on King's College London's waitlist for their marketing program. There was nothing wrong with the applications or documentation submitted; I simply did not have adequate expertise in luxury management, which resulted in rejection. However, the interviews taught me a lot. I was attracted to KEDGE Business School due to its expertise in luxury and brand management, matching my professional goals. The program is practical and business-focused and offers the opportunity to undertake real-world projects—something that I could not find in certain other courses. KEDGE welcomed me into their Brand Management and Luxury Management specialisations. The most important factors were the school's focus on the world, robust connections to the industry, and the opportunity to study in France, a key global hub for luxury brands. Also, the support for international students and career opportunities impressed me. The process started with an online application, where I had to upload my academic transcripts, statement of purpose, CV, and letters of recommendation. I was interviewed after I had sent in the documents, and I was asked about my goals, previous experience, and reasons for applying to KEDGE. I received my offer letter a few days after the interview. The admissions procedure was straightforward and effective in general. I was put to task to prepare for the interview without prior experience with the European admission styles. However, the interview board was polite and eased the tension of nervousness. The highlight was being accepted in both specialisations, which gave me the liberty to create my own academic life. Since I already had a master's degree from India and had 2 years of work experience, I did not have to sit for any English-speaking examinations. A letter from the company I was working at and the CLG explained that my work experience and education had been done in English and were found to be enough. In order to get settled, acclimatise to the climate, and complete formalities such as opening a bank account prior to classes beginning, I decided to join in the September intake. I only applied for one college, i.e., KEDGE Business School KEDGE Business School is Ranked first (#1) in the world for my programme. It is triple accredited and there is no doubt about its reputation. My interest was particularly in purchasing, considering the reputation of the college. I never thought of applying for any other school, and after my interview, I was also given a scholarship, considering my past academic records. When I was looking for colleges, I had one thing in mind: the reputation of the course! The factor that Kedge Business School is triple accredited by AMBA, EQUIS and AASCB influenced by decision to pursue the same school. From admission to acceptance following steps were involved: Email an application for admission. Documentation of past academic record. Essay writing. Interview Selection and start of Visa Process The criteria was to have a minimum bachelor's degree and an IELTS score of 6. The process was smooth; everything was done via email. I faced challenges in gathering my documents for my admission. My passport was already ready so there was no such challenge during the visa process apart from finding accommodation in France near my school. I applied for the 2020 intake and was selected, though the covid lockdown influenced my decision and I deferred my admission to 2021. I had 2 rounds in the selection process. Essay writing (I don't remember the time frame): I was given a topic via email and asked to write an essay and share it in pdf format. I successfully passed this round. I wanted to study in wine and spirits management so I checked all the colleges around the world for that. And I found the KEDGE business school, Burgundy school of business and hongkong polytechic university was best in that, But I chose Kedge, I only applied to Kedge because they have the best and perfect course for wine and spirits business and it is located in Bordeaux, which is the wine capital of the world. There is also Burgundy School of Business which also has a similar program. I was also considering other schools in Italy who had a Food and Wine program. There is also Hongkong Polytechnic University - International wine management, this one is a wine focused course, however I wanted both wine and spirits. I had a connection with Kedge as it was my dream college since 12 th grade. When I got this opportunity to apply, I was extremely happy, after an interview with the director of the program, I got it.So, admission process was very smooth and professionally handled. Factors: ROI ( at that time Kedge graduates made€ 35,000 / annum ) Faculty ( kedge has top industry experts and many Master of wine qualified Professionals) Location: Bordeaux ( Wine Capital of the world) There were no exams required, but you have to pass TOEIC post M1 ( first year, pathway year) Eligibility: Bac +3 / +4 I applied to 2021 intake . I only applied to Kedge Business School (Marseille Campus) and was lucky to get an admit. Although I looked into Emlyon business school,  Skema, EDC Paris Business School, AMOS Business School in France. I also looked into Loughborough university in the UK. Deakin University, Bond University , Victoria University in Australia could have also been an option. Curriculum, ranking and cost were the major factors for choosing the business school. The admission process was to submit and application with SOP and LOR along with relevant documents. It was followed by an interview with a professor to access. For eligibility you are required to have a minimum IELTS score, completed 12+3 or 12+4 years of education.
