Course Curriculum

10

  • The course was a mixture of theoretical and practical; it included case studies, group activities and theoretical exams.
  • Positive aspect:
    • Helps to develop leadership via teamwork
    • Make you tech savvy, as you are only working on laptop
    • Improves your communication skills
  • Negative aspects:
    • Hard to find the source of information
    • Force you to work independently

Admission Experience

  • I only applied for one college, i.e., KEDGE Business School
  • KEDGE Business School is Ranked first (#1) in the world for my programme. It is triple accredited and there is no doubt about its reputation.
  • My interest was particularly in purchasing, considering the reputation of the college. I never thought of applying for any other school, and after my interview, I was also given a scholarship, considering my past academic records.
  • When I was looking for colleges, I had one thing in mind: the reputation of the course! The factor that Kedge Business School is triple accredited by AMBA, EQUIS and AASCB influenced by decision to pursue the same school.
  • From admission to acceptance following steps were involved:
    • Email an application for admission.
    • Documentation of past academic record.
    • Essay writing.
    • Interview
    • Selection and start of Visa Process
  • The criteria was to have a minimum bachelor's degree and an IELTS score of 6.
  • The process was smooth; everything was done via email. I faced challenges in gathering my documents for my admission. My passport was already ready so there was no such challenge during the visa process apart from finding accommodation in France near my school.
  • I applied for the 2020 intake and was selected, though the covid lockdown influenced my decision and I deferred my admission to 2021.
  • I had 2 rounds in the selection process.
    • Essay writing (I don't remember the time frame): I was given a topic via email and asked to write an essay and share it in pdf format. I successfully passed this round.
    • Interview (I don't remember the time frame): Post the Essay round I had an online interview where questions related to my previous job experience, the essay and hobbies were asked, along with one case study.
  • After 1 month I received an email of selection. Thereafter starts the Visa process! It took 6 months from start to end.

Class Schedule

10

  • Two classes of 2 hrs each were scheduled in a day. Timing: Morning : 8- 10 am / 9- 10 am Afternoon : 2-4 pm /3 - 5 pm
  • Average number of students per batch was 30-40. Two Indian students enrolled in my course.

Faculty

8

  • Every course had different faculty and since the batch consisted only of 30-40 students, it was easy to build rapport and communicate with each student.
  • The teaching was the same as school on boards; the material used was case studies, pdfs, laptops and self-experience. It was enough to prepare for the interview but less to influence the confidence unless one learns it properly.
  • No personal references were used; few companies visit schools and recruit students.
  • While school helps to share online openings via LinkedIn and emails, in the end, it's the student who has to go through it independently. Some platforms in school help students to apply for apprenticeships, but they demand French language proficiency.
  • I admire the faculty who took my interview; he was British and used to teach us negotiation. the reason behind liking him was the shared interest of watching cricket.

Campus Life

10

  • The college has three campuses: Bordeaux in France , Marseille in France and china.
  • Library, Sports, Cafeterias, Gymnasium, Medical service, Gaming zones, etc.
  • Car events where expensive cars are showcased on campus, blood donation events. I was never into extra curricular activities so no idea about them. Post-exam meetups were also a part of it.

Part Time Jobs

  • For Indians, the bar is high; one should be lucky enough just to find a internship there are no positions offered as mentioned above, i.e. TA, RA, or DA.
  • The pay range starts from 12000 euros/yr to 30000 euros/yr. There are no on-campus jobs available, though one can find part-time work outside college. hourly wages are 10 euros gross with a contract. Max allowed work is 35 hrs a week; Saturday & Sunday are holidays.
  • The reputation of the programme is high so everyone finds an internship at the end. the process needs a lot of patience, but the internship is guaranteed. For a job, it depends on the skill set and the call of your reposting manager. If the person is proficient at French, it helps him/her to find a good CID.
  • The hourly wage for the part-time job is a minimum of 10 euros, including taxes. Students are recommended to have a contract-based job. Most of the Indians look for part-time work in restaurants, booth shops, and babysitting. There are online platforms and facebook groups where you can post certain requirements. It's better to have french language proficiency and cv along with a cover letter.

Placement

8

  • I came back to India after completing my educational studies.
  • My friends are still there haven't got the CDI yet but are working in the same company post-internship.
  • Post my internship I continued working at an Indian company but, due to some personal reasons, had to leave the job.
  • Now, I am pursuing my passion. I haven't given myself a chance to find a job again because I don't find the need to.

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • School helped me with the accommodation. I asked the person who was coordinating for post-admission formalities.
  • The monthly rent was 350 euros. The facilities provided were induction gas, a refrigerator, a heater, warm water, an attached washroom and toilet, a study table, and a bed.
  • The process on online and it was difficult to trust the source for payments. Other challenges were to seek government accommodation instead of private to save costs.
  • My accommodation was 15 mins away from school. The most Indian students stay either in school hostels or else in government hostels for students named CROUS.

Exams

  • For my course only English proficiency was important so TOEFL IBT (79) or IELTS (6) was mandatory.
  • Certification : SSC, HSC, Bachelors transcripts, Job experience letter, etc.
  • The format of the interview was online via email. It was conducted by one of my professors; my work experience and my essay were so impressive that I could answer all the technical and personal questions.

Fees

  • My tuition fees were 19000 euros.
  • The fees charged were yearly/semester-wise, with no option for credit-based.
  • My monthly expenses are below :
    • Rent : 350 euros (I was staying in 11 sq. ftstudio apartment )
    • Travel : 30 euros (I was travelling via tram )
    • Food : 100 euros (I am vegetarian person )
    • Communication : 10 euros
    • Other : 100 - 200 euros (leisure activities )

Scholarship

  • Yes, I received scholarships named early bird and the Erasmus scholarship.
  • The criteria for the selection are our past academic records (HSC, bachelor's, French language). The waiver on the fees was 900 euros for early birds and 900 euros for Erasmus.
  • I don't know if any of my friends applied for this scholarship. Neither has any idea about the student who receives this scholarship.
