PESSAT (People’s Education Society Scholastic Aptitude Test) is the official entrance exam conducted by PES University for admission to many of its UG and PG programs. From 2025 onwards, B. Tech admissions are no longer through PESSAT. Instead, they are based on JEE Main and KCET scores.

The eligibility criteria for PES University Exam and admission is a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 from a recognized board.

PESSAT is a common entrance exam conducted for Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy Law and design programs as well. So syllabus for each program is different. The duration of PES University Exam for engineering programs is 180 minutes. Whereas for other programs it is 120 minutes.

What is PESSAT 2026?

PESSAT stands for People's Education Society Scholastic Aptitude Test. It is an online entrance and scholarship test conducted by PES University for admission to many programs. Students are selected based on their test scores and, in some programs, personal interviews.

For B. Tech, PESSAT is no longer used; admission is now based on JEE Main or KCET. But for many other courses like MBA, Design, Law, and other UG/PG programs, PESSAT is still used to get admission.

The test is accepted across all three PES campuses – Bangalore Main, Electronic City, and RR Campus – and students need to register online through the official PES website. It also helps the university offer scholarships based on merit.

Ques: Can we join PES through Comedk?

Ans: Yes, you can join PES University for B.Tech through COMEDK. Students from Karnataka and other states can use their COMEDK rank to apply for engineering seats at PES.

Ques: Does PESSAT consider board marks?

Ans: Yes, PES University Bangalore does consider your board marks along with PESSAT. But PESSAT is still very important. If you do not qualify in PESSAT, you cannot get admission just based on your board marks.

PESSAT 2026 Application Process

The registration process for PESSAT has started on September 5, 2025. Candidates can fill out the PESSAT 2026 application form only through the online mode. The application forms are available. Candidates must be careful while filling out the application form, as the form will be rejected by the university if there is any mistake.

The application fee for PESSAT 2026 is INR 1200. Candidates can make the payment through online mode (net banking/credit card/debit card) or offline mode (demand draft/Challan). The demand draft should be made in favor of the “PES University General Fund” that will be payable in Bangalore. Candidates who decide to make the payment through a Challan or a Demand Draft need to submit the Challan or Demand Draft at the following address, along with the printed application form:

PESSAT 2026 Result

The PESSAT result will be declared on the official PES University site after 3 days of taking the Entrance exam. To check the result, candidates have to log in to the result portal using their credentials.

The results of the PESSAT entrance exam will be prepared by considering the candidates' performance in:

PESSAT 2026 Counselling

The counselling process for PESSAT starts after the declaration of the PESSAT result. The counselling is done for admission to PES University. The candidates are shortlisted for the counselling based on their marks in the PESSAT entrance exam. Candidates are allotted seats, and for the same, they have to verify their documents on the counselling day and have to pay the seat-acceptance fee within the given deadline to confirm their seats.
