Karnataka PGCET 2024 Merit List is going to be released tentatively in October 2024. KEA will declare the results for Karnataka PGCET 2024 in third week of October 2024. Karnataka PGCET 2024 Counselling is expected to start in November 2024. However, KEA has yet to announce the official schedule for counselling and the declaration of merit list. As per the merit defined by the coordinating authority, ranks will be assigned separately for all the programs as per the norms and procedure to the eligible candidates.
Karnataka PGCET 2024 Merit List is going to consist of a candidate’s name, Karnataka PG CET rank 2024. If a rank has been allotted to the candidate, it doesn’t mean that they have a right to join college/ course. A counselling process or seat selection and allotment process is going to confirm the candidate’s admission.
Karnataka PGCET 2024 Merit List
- The merit list for each course is published separately and is purely based on the candidate’s performance in Karnataka PGCET exam.
- A few days after the results have been announced, the merit list will be published.
Karnataka PGCET 2024 Merit Tie-Breaker
If the marks/ merit of two or more candidates is tied, the following method of tie-breaker will be used:
- The total aggregate marks in the qualifying examination of the candidate will be marked. The higher qualifying marks will gain higher merit.
- If the marks are equal again, then the age of the candidate will be taken into account, where the candidate elder in age will get higher merit.
- Still, if the merit is tied, the merit will be determined by draw of lots.
Karnataka PGCET Merit: ME/ M. Tech / M. Arch Course
The merit of students for this course (full-time) will be set for different classes of candidates which are as follows:
- GATE candidates: merit of GATE candidates will be evaluated on the basis of valid GATE score.
- Non-GATE Candidates: Merit for Non-Candidates will be based on marks in the PG CET Exam.
- Sponsored Exam: Following order will be preferred in determining the merit of sponsored students:
- Candidates employed in State Government Institutions / Organizations
- Candidates employed in Public Sector / Aided Institutions
- Candidates employed in Private Institutions / Private Sector Organizations
There is no age limit for sponsored candidates but in the determination of merit, candidates below the age of 45 years will be considered. If the candidate has quit the sponsored institution, they will lose seat under sponsored category.
Karnataka PGCET Merit: ME/ M. Tech / M. Arch Course
The merit of students for this course (part-time) will be set for different classes of candidates which are as follows:
- GATE candidates: merit of GATE candidates will be evaluated on the basis of valid GATE score.
- Non-GATE Candidates: Merit for Non-Candidates will be based on marks in the PG CET Exam.
If the merit of two or more candidates is the same, then the tie-breaker method mentioned above will be used to determine higher merit.
How to check Karnataka PGECET Results
Karnataka PGCET Preparation of Rank List
The rank list will be prepared for VTU, UBDTCE & UVCE and for Kuvempu and Mysore University, the list will be separate but the procedure of merit list preparation will be the same.
For admission to M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch (Full Time) Course, there shall be two merit lists prepared as mentioned below:
- The list of GATE candidates, arranged in the order of merit considering the valid GATE score, is called “GATE Rank List (FT)”
- The list of PGCET-2024 candidates, arranged in the order of merit considering the PGCET-2024 marks is called PGCET Rank List (FT)”.

For admission to M.Tech (Part Time) course, there shall be two merit lists prepared as mentioned below:
- The list of GATE candidates, arranged in the order of merit considering the valid GATE score is called “GATE Rank List (PT)”.
- The list of PGCET-2024 candidates, arranged in the order of merit considering the PGCET-2024 score, is called “PGCET-Rank list (PT)”. For Kuvempu and Mysore University; a separate rank list will be prepared for these two Universities and procedure is similar as mentioned above.
Publication of Merit List
After the answer key of the Karnataka PGCET 2024 Exam is declared, candidates will have the options of stating any objections either through e-mail, speed-post or in person to the following address:

Candidates will send proof of their justification and Objections received from the candidates without justification shall not be considered. The expert committee of Karnataka Examination Authority will work on the final decision and publish the Final Answer Key. The Karnataka PGCET Result will also be uploaded soon after publishing the final answer key. The merit list of each course will be published on the official website. There will no request or applications for re-totalling or revaluation of OMR Sheet entertained by Karnataka Examination Authority.
