- Candidates who are the children of Defence personnel and have announced Karnataka as their home state while joining the armed forces.
- Candidates whose parents work for the Karnataka State government or central government and are responsible to be transferred anywhere in the country, but have worked in Karnataka state for a minimum of one year, while the aspirants were reading for classes 11 and 12 or its equivalent class at a government recognized institute in Karnataka.
- Aspirants who are the children of ex-servicemen and who have mentioned Karnataka as their hometown when applying for the Defence Services will be needed to show proof of residence. Aspirants from any recognized institution in the country should have passed a qualifying examination.
- Candidates who have completed 10+2 from a recognized board anywhere in the country and are children of Karnataka MPs are eligible to run.
- Aspirants whose parents are employed in the Karnataka State Government, All India Services of Karnataka cadre, and are working or have worked outside the Karnataka state in the period corresponding to the aspirants study outside the state i.e., from class 1 to 12 or its equivalent class, and have studied for at least 7 years
- Applicants whose parents are migrants of Jammu and Kashmir. Migration Proof must be shown to the appropriate authority.
- Candidates whose parents named Karnataka as their birthplace and are members of the Central Armed Police Force when applying for the CAPF. Proof of residence should be presented and obtained by the appropriate authorities. Aspirants should have passed their graduation from a recognized board anywhere in the country with a 10+2 diploma.
- Candidates who have completed ten years of education in Kannada medium need not be required to appear in any KEA language tests and must have qualified for a qualifying examination from any government-approved institution in the country.
