JKBOSE Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025 has been released by JKBOSE. The format of question paper for all the subjects shall also be the same as that of last year. For the areas of Kashmir and the U.T of Ladakh(winter zone) the revised syllabus will be applicable as previously for upcoming examinations. Syllabus of every subject have been curtailed by 40% for senior secondary and higher secondary exam 2025.

J&K Board Exam Pattern Class 12
There are five subjects in class 12 exam including the compulsory language paper i.e. English. The second language is required to be selected from the list of available languages. Each subject carries 100 marks including practical and theory sections. The summer zone and the winter zone have the same pattern. However, the winter zone examinations are usually delayed due to the random situations in Kashmir. Below is the list of compulsory and additional subjects available for the students:

J&K Board Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025
In the higher secondary exam i.e. class 12 there are five subjects including one language paper- English and one optional subject. The optional subject shall be selected at the time of initial registration that is done in class 11. Candidates from commerce stream can also take mathematics as an elective subject. Each paper carries 100 marks and the minimum marks required to pass in the examination is 33% sectional and 33% aggregate.

J&K Board Exam Pattern: Commerce Stream
In the commerce stream there are 6 papers in which two are optional. Every subject is of 100 marks including the written and internal/external assessment. In Accountancy 80 marks is for written exam and 5 marks is for internal assessment. The external assessment in accountancy is for 15 marks in which the students are required to prepare an assignment. The topic for assignment is allotted by the school. The similar pattern is followed by the Entrepreneurship paper. For shorthand and typewriting there are no written examinations and only internal and external assessment is conducted. The detailed marking scheme is tabulated below:

In the Arts & Humanities stream there are six papers and each paper is of 100 marks. Only History and Geography are the two subjects in which marks are bifurcated as written, internal and external assessment and project work.

According to the new syllabus around 30% part from every subject have been omitted. The board has provided a list of topics for every subject that has been retained for the upcoming exam. Mathematics
The mathematics syllabus is one of the lengthiest syllabus for any board. So the syllabus for the subject has been curtailed on the basis of the CBSE scheme of syllabus reduction. It was important to keep a similar pattern as the forthcoming entrance exam like JEE Main, NEET etc has also reduced the syllabus following the same pattern.
