CSEET 2027: Feb Registration Open, Exam Dates, Syllabus and Exam Pattern

CSEET 2027 (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) is conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) across three sessions — February, June, and October — as the mandatory entrance test for graduates and postgraduates who want to enter the CS Executive Programme. The exam is held in offline, pen-and-paper mode at authorised test centres across India, a format that has been in place since June 2026. • CSEET February 2027 Registration: Registration for the February 2027 session is open right now on smash.icsi.edu. The last date to register without a late fee is October 31, 2026. The exam enrollment window (for already-registered candidates) opens November 16, 2026 and closes December 15, 2026.
• CSEET October 2026 Exam: The next CSEET session will be held across four days — October 1, 3, 5, and 6, 2026 — at offline test centres. Results are expected approximately 10 days after the last paper, based on the January 2026 result pattern (result declared January 20, ten days after the January 10 exam).
• CSEET February 2027 Exam: The February 2027 exam is expected in the first week of February 2027. ICSI has not yet released exact dates. Late enrollment (with an additional Rs 250 fee) will be accepted from December 16 to December 20, 2026 for candidates who miss the regular enrollment window.
• CSEET June and October 2027: Exact dates for the June 2027 and October 2027 sessions have not yet been announced. Last year, June 2026 registration closed in February 2026. ICSI will release the 2027 second and third session schedules on icsi.edu early next year.

What is CSEET 2027?

CSEET stands for Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). ICSI introduced CSEET on February 3, 2020, as a mandatory screening test for graduates and postgraduates who want to join the CS Executive Programme — the second stage of the three-tier Company Secretary course. Before CSEET was introduced, graduates could directly enter the CS Executive Programme without any entrance screening. CSEET changed that.

The CS course has three stages:

• Foundation Programme — for Class 10+2 pass students who want to start CS from school level
• Executive Programme — the gateway is either CS Foundation pass OR CSEET pass for graduates
• Professional Programme — the final stage leading to the full CS designation and ICSI membership

ICSI conducts CSEET three times a year in 2027 — in February, June, and October. The exam has 4 papers totalling 400 marks. Each paper is held on a separate day at offline test centres. This offline format replaced the earlier remote proctored CBT format starting from June 2026 — a significant change that students preparing for CSEET 2027 must keep in mind.

CSEET 2027 Important Dates

ICSI conducts CSEET three times in 2027. The most urgent deadline right now is the February 2027 registration, which closes on October 31, 2026. Dates for the June and October 2027 sessions are not yet announced but are expected to follow the same annual cycle. Below is the full event calendar, with upcoming events listed first.

CSEET 2027 Eligibility Criteria

The CSEET 2027 eligibility criteria are simple and inclusive. ICSI has kept the academic bar low to allow students from diverse backgrounds to enter the CS journey through this route.

Educational Qualification

• You must have passed Class 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from any recognised Board or University
• You can also appear in CSEET if you are currently studying in Class 12 and your results are awaited
• Graduates and postgraduates from any discipline are also eligible
• Students from the Fine Arts stream are NOT eligible — this is the only stream excluded
• There is no minimum percentage requirement — any score at the 10+2 level qualifies

Age Limit for CSEET 2027

• You must be at least 17 years old at the time of applying
• There is no upper age limit for CSEET 2027

Number of Attempts

• There is no restriction on the number of attempts
• You can appear in as many sessions as needed until you qualify
• With three sessions in 2027 (February, June, October), you can attempt up to three times in a single year

Class 10+2 students from the Fine Arts stream cannot appear for CSEET. All other streams — Science, Commerce, Humanities, Vocational — are eligible.

CSEET 2027 Registration Process

The CSEET 2027 registration for the February session is currently open on smash.icsi.edu. Registration is a one-time process — once you register, you only need to pay the Rs 1,500 exam enrollment fee for each session you appear in, without going through the registration form again.

There are two separate steps you must complete: registration (done once) and exam enrollment (done before every session you appear in). Many students miss the enrollment step after registering — do not make that mistake.

Step-by-Step CSEET 2027 Registration

• Step 1 — Visit the portal: Go to smash.icsi.edu and click on the CSEET February 2027 Session registration link
• Step 2 — Fill in your details: Enter your personal information (name, date of birth, gender), contact details (mobile number, email), and academic details (Class 12 board, roll number, year of passing or expected year)
• Step 3 — Upload documents: Upload a scanned photograph and signature in the file format and size specified by ICSI on the portal — check the exact specifications before uploading to avoid rejection
• Step 4 — Review carefully: Check all entries before submitting — errors in name or date of birth can cause problems at the exam centre and are difficult to correct after submission
• Step 5 — Pay the registration fee: Pay Rs 7,500 online using a debit card, credit card, or net banking; this is a one-time fee and is non-refundable
• Step 6 — Complete exam enrollment (separate step): After registering, fill the exam enrollment form during the enrollment window (November 16 – December 15, 2026 for the February 2027 session) and pay Rs 1,500 as the session-specific enrollment fee

Registration alone does not enroll you for the exam. You must complete Step 6 — the exam enrollment — separately within the enrollment window. If you miss the enrollment window, you will need to wait for the next session.

CSEET 2027 Application Fees

The CSEET fee structure has two parts — a one-time registration fee and a per-session exam enrollment fee. You pay the registration fee once when you first register. For every session you appear in after that, you only pay the Rs 1,500 enrollment fee.

All payments are online. The registration fee and enrollment fee are both non-refundable. If you fail a session and want to reappear, you pay only the Rs 1,500 enrollment fee for the next session — no re-registration is needed.

After qualifying CSEET and registering for the CS Executive Programme, the total CS Executive registration fee for CSEET-qualified candidates is Rs 18,900. This covers the ICSI education fee, pre-examination test fee, and orientation programme fee for the Executive stage.

CSEET 2027 Syllabus

The CSEET 2027 syllabus follows the restructured syllabus released by ICSI, which covers 4 papers testing business communication, accounting, economics, and law and management. Papers 1, 2, and 3 are subjective, while Paper 4 is MCQ-based. Here is a paper-wise breakdown of topics.

Paper 1: Business Communication (100 Marks, Subjective)

This paper tests your written communication and English language skills. It carries 100 marks and requires you to write structured answers. Strong grammar and business writing practice are key.

Paper 3 has two sections — Economics and Business Environment. The business environment section is updated each year to include current Union Budget highlights and recent economic developments.

• Economics: Micro and macroeconomics concepts in the Indian context, demand and supply analysis, market structures (perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly), national income and GDP concepts, Indian economic indicators
• Business Environment: Indian business environment overview, impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on Indian businesses (a newly-added topic in the revised syllabus), ease of doing business in India, Union Budget highlights for the current year, FDI and trade policy basics

Paper 4: Business Laws & Management (100 Marks, OMR MCQ, No Negative Marking)

Paper 4 is divided into two parts. Since there is no negative marking, you must attempt every question.

• Business Laws (60 marks): Indian Contract Act 1872, Sale of Goods Act 1930, Indian Partnership Act 1932, Limited Liability Partnership Act 2008, Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, and basic provisions of company law relevant to the CS profession
• Business Management (40 marks): Principles of management, planning, organising, directing, controlling, motivation theories (Maslow, Herzberg, McGregor), leadership styles, business ethics, and corporate governance basics

CSEET 2027 Admit Card

The CSEET 2027 admit card will be released by ICSI on its official website a few days before each session’s exam. You must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID to the exam centre on every exam day — all 4 days.

When Is the CSEET Admit Card Released?

• ICSI typically releases the admit card 5–7 days before the exam
• For the January 2026 session, the admit card was released around January 5, 2026 — approximately 5 days before the January 10 exam
• Based on this pattern, the CSEET February 2027 admit card is expected in the last week of January 2027 — exact dates will be confirmed once ICSI announces the February 2027 exam dates
• For the October 2026 session (exam: October 1, 3, 5, 6), the admit card is expected around September 24–26, 2026

CSEET 2027 Result

The CSEET result is declared on the official ICSI website. ICSI releases an e-Result-cum-Marks Statement — a downloadable digital scorecard. There is no physical mark sheet. Based on the January 2026 pattern (result declared January 20 for an exam held January 10), results typically arrive about 10 days after the exam. For multi-day sessions, the countdown starts from the last paper.

CSEET Passing Criteria — Reminder

You pass CSEET only if you meet both conditions:

• Minimum 40 out of 100 (40%) in each individual paper — Papers 1, 2, 3, and 4 separately
• Minimum 200 out of 400 (50%) in total across all 4 papers

If you fail in any paper, you must reappear in all 4 papers in the next session — there is no selective re-appearing option in CSEET.

Exemption from CSEET 2027 — Who Can Skip the Exam?

Not everyone needs to appear for CSEET. ICSI allows certain categories of candidates to skip CSEET and directly register for the CS Executive Programme. These exemptions are for candidates who have already cleared a comparable professional exam at the final level.

If you are a CA Final or CMA Final pass holder, you can directly join the CS Executive Programme by paying the Rs 5,000 exemption fee at the time of CS Executive registration — no CSEET needed. The exemption makes sense because CA Final and CMA Final examinations are rigorous and cover significant subject overlap with the CS Executive curriculum.

CS Foundation pass holders can skip CSEET without paying any additional exemption fee — their Foundation qualification directly entitles them to CS Executive registration.

General graduates and postgraduates — regardless of percentage or stream (except Fine Arts) — must compulsorily appear for and pass CSEET before registering for CS Executive.
