CSEET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The CSEET 2026 eligibility criteria are open and student-friendly. There is no minimum percentage in Class 12, no age limit, and no specific subject stream requirement. Here is everything you need to check:

Students currently in Class 12 can register for CSEET, but they must produce their Class 12 pass certificate at the time of CS Executive registration. If you appear for CSEET in October 2026 before your Class 12 result, you need to clear Class 12 and submit the certificate when joining CS Executive.

There is no state-wise or category-wise restriction on eligibility. Students from all Indian states and all recognized educational boards (CBSE, ICSE, and state boards) are equally eligible.

Who is Exempt from CSEET 2026?

Several student categories are fully exempt from CSEET 2026 and can register directly for the CS Executive Programme without appearing for this entrance test. If you fall into any of the categories below, CSEET is not required for you:

• CS Foundation Pass Holders: Students who have cleared the ICSI CS Foundation Programme can directly register for CS Executive without giving CSEET.
• Graduates and Post-Graduates: Any student who has completed a 3-year or longer undergraduate degree (BA, B.Com, BSc, BBA, LLB, etc.) from a recognized university is fully exempt.
• CA Intermediate Pass Holders: Students who have cleared the CA Intermediate examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) are exempt from CSEET.
• CMA Intermediate Pass Holders: Students who have cleared the CMA Intermediate examination of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) are also exempt.
• Final Year Undergraduates (Provisional Registration): Students in the final year or final semester of a 3-year undergraduate programme can seek provisional registration for CS Executive. They must submit their degree certificate within the prescribed period.
• 5-Year Integrated Programme Students: Students who have passed or are appearing in the 6th semester of a recognized 5-year integrated programme are eligible for provisional registration in CS Executive.

In simple terms — if you already hold a degree or have cleared a professional examination equivalent to graduation, CSEET is not for you. CSEET is only for Class 12 pass students who have not yet completed a full graduation programme.

CSEET 2026 Registration and Enrollment: How to Apply

The CSEET 2026 process has two distinct steps: Registration (enrolling as a student with ICSI) and Exam Enrollment (applying to appear in a specific session). You must complete both steps to sit for the exam.

Step 1: CSEET Registration with ICSI

Registration is the first step where you enroll as a student with ICSI by paying the registration fee. For the October 2026 session, registration was open from February 16 to June 30, 2026, and is now closed. For the February 2027 session, registration is currently open until October 31, 2026.

Here is the registration process:

• Visit the official ICSI portal at smash.icsi.edu
• Select the option to register for CSEET and click on the registration link
• Fill in your personal details, educational qualification, and communication address
• Upload scanned copies of required documents — photograph, signature, Class 10 certificate (date of birth proof), Class 12 admit card or marksheet, identity proof, and category certificate (if applicable)
• Pay the registration fee online through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI
• Submit the form, download the acknowledgement, and keep a printout for your records

CSEET 2026 Registration Fee Structure

Step 2: Exam Enrollment (Session-Specific) — Currently Open for October 2026

After registration, you must enroll separately to appear in a specific exam session. This is a session-specific step involving a separate enrollment form and exam fee payment. The CSEET October 2026 exam enrollment window is currently open from July 1 to August 7, 2026 without a late fee. If you miss this window, a late fee will apply from August 9 to August 20, 2026.

Log in to your ICSI student account on smash.icsi.edu, select the October 2026 session, complete the enrollment form, and pay the enrollment fee to confirm your seat. Your admit card will be issued after enrollment closes.

If you registered for CSEET October 2026 before June 30, 2026, you must now complete the exam enrollment before August 7, 2026. Missing the enrollment deadline means you cannot appear for the October 2026 exam, even if you paid the registration fee.

CSEET 2026 New Exam Pattern (Restructured from June 2026)

ICSI introduced a major restructuring of the CSEET from the June 2026 session. The exam shifted from online mode to offline, centre-based mode, and total marks increased from 200 to 400. Three papers changed from MCQ to written (subjective) format. This is the pattern that applies to the CSEET October 2026 session.

• Reading Time: 15 minutes reading time (2:30 PM to 2:45 PM) is given before each paper; writing begins at 2:45 PM.
• No Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in any paper, including Paper 4 (OMR-based). Attempt all questions.
• No Mark Carry-Forward: You cannot carry forward marks from one session to another. If you fail even one paper, you must reappear in all four papers in the next session.
• Paper 4 Split: Paper 4 (Business Laws and Management) is the only OMR paper and has two parts — Part A: Business Laws (60 marks) and Part B: Business Management (40 marks).

CSEET 2026 Syllabus: Paper-Wise Topics

The CSEET 2026 syllabus under the restructured pattern covers four subjects. The three subjective papers test written communication, accounting, and economic analysis. Paper 4 is MCQ-based, covering business laws and management concepts. Paper 1: Business Communication (100 Marks, Subjective, 3 Hours)

This paper tests your written communication skills in a professional business setting. You must write structured answers, draft business letters, emails, memos, and reports. Key topics include:

• Report Writing: Formal and informal reports, press releases, and business proposals

Paper 2: Fundamentals of Accounting (100 Marks, Subjective, 3 Hours)

Fundamentals of Accounting is a new addition under the restructured CSEET pattern. It tests basic accounting knowledge through practical problem-solving. You need to solve numerical problems in this paper. Key topics include:

• Basic Accounting Concepts: Accounting equation, double-entry system, rules of debit and credit
• Golden Rules of Accounting: Real, personal, and nominal accounts; journal entries and ledger
• Trial Balance: Preparation from ledger balances

Paper 3: Economic and Business Environment (100 Marks, Subjective, 3 Hours)

This paper requires analytical writing on economic concepts and the Indian business environment. Staying updated on Union Budget 2026 and recent economic developments is important for this paper. Key topics include:

• Basic Economics: Law of demand and supply, elasticity, price determination, market structures
• National Income: GDP, GNP, NNP — concepts and calculation methods
• Union Budget 2026: Key fiscal policies, taxation changes, budget allocations, and their economic impact

This is the only MCQ-based paper in CSEET 2026. It has two parts and no negative marking. You should attempt every question.

CSEET 2026 Result

ICSI declares the CSEET result on its official website typically within 2 to 4 weeks after the last exam date of a session.

CSEET June 2026 Result: Current Status

The CSEET June 2026 exam was held from June 1 to 4, 2026 — the first session under the new restructured offline pattern. As of July 1, 2026, ICSI has not yet declared the CSEET June 2026 result. The result is expected in the first week of July 2026. You should check the official ICSI website for the announcement.

• Enter your registration number and date of birth
• Download and save the scorecard as a PDF — keep a printout for future use

CSEET Result Validity

The CSEET result is valid for one year from the date of declaration. If you clear CSEET in October 2026 and the result is declared in November 2026, you must register for CS Executive before November 2027. After this window expires, you must reappear for CSEET to qualify again.

There is no provision to extend result validity. There is also no exemption for individual papers — if you do not meet the passing criteria in even one paper, you must sit for all four papers again in the next session.
