Latest Update (June 15, 2026): AUCET 2026 exam has been conducted in mid-June 2026. Candidates who appeared can expect the official answer key, result, and counselling schedule to be announced on the AUDOA portal in the coming weeks.
AUCET 2026 (Andhra University Common Entrance Test) is a state-level postgraduate entrance exam conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam for admission to M.Sc., M.A., M.Com., M.Ed., M.Tech, LLM, and other PG programmes at Andhra University campus, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University (Srikakulam), and affiliated colleges across North and Central Andhra Pradesh. Held once a year, AUCET is the primary gateway for thousands of graduates seeking PG admission in these institutions. The AUCET 2026 exam has been conducted in mid-June 2026, and the admission process is now moving towards the answer key, result, and web-based counselling stages.
- Answer Key: AUCET 2026 answer key is expected within a few days of the exam on the official AUDOA website. In 2025, the provisional answer key was released approximately one week after the exam. Candidates can raise objections against incorrect answers during the objection window before the final answer key is published.
- Result: AUCET 2026 result is expected in early July 2026. In 2025, the result was declared in mid-June — about 2 to 3 weeks after the exam. The result will be published as a PDF merit list on audoa.andhrauniversity.edu.in, and individual rank cards will also be made available for download.
- Counselling: Web-based counselling for AUCET 2026 is expected to begin in July 2026 on the official portal (audoa.in). In 2025, counselling registration opened in July. Qualified candidates — those scoring above the qualifying cutoff — need to register, fill in their preferred courses and colleges, and participate in seat allotment rounds.
- Seat Allotment: Phase 1 seat allotment for AUCET 2026 is expected in late July 2026. After allotment, candidates must pay the course fee within the given deadline. Seats not confirmed by fee payment are cancelled. Additional rounds of counselling may be held for vacant seats after Phase 1.
What is AUCET 2026?
AUCET stands for Andhra University Common Entrance Test. It is a state-level entrance examination conducted every year by Andhra University (AU), Visakhapatnam through its Directorate of Admissions (AUDOA). The exam gives students across Andhra Pradesh — and eligible candidates from other states — a chance to secure seats in various postgraduate programmes offered by Andhra University, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University (BRAU), Srikakulam, and their affiliated colleges.
AUCET 2026 is conducted for admission to programmes such as M.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Marine Biology, Geology, Statistics), M.A. (Economics, English, History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology), M.Com., M.Ed., M.Tech, LLM, and MCA. Each programme has a separate subject paper, and candidates appear for the paper relevant to their preferred PG course.
The exam tests your knowledge of undergraduate-level content in the relevant subject. It is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper), lasts 90 minutes, and has 100 objective-type questions. There is no negative marking, which means you should attempt all questions. Andhra University has been conducting this exam for decades, making it one of the most established PG entrance tests in Andhra Pradesh.
Why is AUCET 2026 Important?
Andhra University is one of the oldest and most reputed universities in India, established in 1926. Its PG programmes — especially in science disciplines — carry strong recognition in academics and research. Admission to Andhra University’s PG programmes is fully merit-based through AUCET, with no management or NRI quota seats for most courses. This makes AUCET the only path to a seat here.
More than 148 colleges affiliated with Andhra University and BRAU also accept AUCET scores for PG admissions. The web-based counselling system ensures transparency — seats are allotted strictly based on rank and preference. For students in North Andhra Pradesh, a good AUCET 2026 rank opens the doors to some of the best PG programmes in the region.
Who Conducts AUCET?
AUCET is conducted by the Andhra University Directorate of Admissions (AUDOA), Visakhapatnam. The official website for AUCET is audoa.andhrauniversity.edu.in. All notifications, admit cards, answer keys, results, and counselling schedules are published on this portal.

You need to submit your objection with proper justification and reference to standard textbooks. AUDOA reviews all objections and incorporates valid corrections in the final answer key. There may be a fee per objection raised.
Calculating your expected score using the provisional answer key gives you an early estimate of your probable rank before the official result is declared.
AUCET 2026 Result
AUCET 2026 result is expected in early July 2026. In previous years, the result was declared approximately 2-3 weeks after the exam. The result is published on the official AUDOA website in PDF format as a merit list.

AUCET 2026 Rank Card
Along with the result, AUDOA releases a separate rank card (also called the score card). The AUCET rank card is required for counselling registration. Without the rank card, you cannot participate in the seat allotment process. Download and print multiple copies of your rank card once it is available.
AUCET Result — Year-wise Trend
| Year | Exam Date | Result Date (Approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | May 3–6, 2024 | 3rd week of May 2024 |
| 2025 | May 2025 | Mid-June 2025 |
| 2026 | Mid-June 2026 | Early July 2026 (Expected) |
The result date for 2026 is based on previous year trends. AUDOA will announce the exact date officially.
AUCET 2026 Cutoff
The AUCET 2026 cutoff has two components — the qualifying cutoff and the admission cutoff. The qualifying cutoff is fixed by Andhra University and tells you the minimum marks needed to be eligible for counselling. The admission cutoff is determined after counselling and tells you the last rank at which admission was given for each programme and college.
AUCET 2026 Qualifying Cutoff
| Category | Minimum Qualifying Marks (out of 100) | Qualifying Percentage |
|---|---|---|
| General | 50 | 50% |
| SC / ST | 45 | 45% |
| OBC | 45 | 45% |
| PWD (Physically Disabled) | 40 | 40% |
The above qualifying cutoff is fixed across all subject papers. Scoring at least 50 out of 100 (General category) makes you eligible for AUCET 2026 counselling. But keep in mind — qualifying is only the first step.
Scoring just above the qualifying cutoff does not guarantee a seat in your preferred programme. For high-demand courses like M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Chemistry, M.A. English, and M.Com. at Andhra University main campus, the actual admission cutoff (closing rank) is significantly higher. You need a competitive rank to get into sought-after programmes.
Factors That Affect AUCET 2026 Admission Cutoff
- Total number of candidates qualifying in each subject paper
- Total seats available for each PG programme
- Difficulty level of the AUCET 2026 paper
- Category-wise seat reservation and competition
- Number of candidates opting for each course and college during counselling
The programme-wise and college-wise closing ranks are published by AUDOA after each round of counselling is completed. These closing ranks from 2026 will be available after the counselling process ends.
AUCET 2026 Counselling
AUCET 2026 counselling is expected to begin in July 2026. The counselling process is fully online (web-based) and is conducted on the official AUDOA portal — audoa.in. All qualified candidates (those who score above the qualifying cutoff) are eligible to participate in counselling.
AUCET 2026 Counselling Process: Step by Step
Step 1 — Counselling Registration
After the result is declared, qualified candidates need to register separately for AUCET 2026 counselling on audoa.in. You must log in with your AUCET roll number and register within the given dates.
Step 2 — Choice Filling
Once registered, you fill in your preferred combination of courses and colleges in order of preference. You can fill in as many choices as you want — more choices generally give you a better chance of getting a seat. Choose carefully, as your allotment depends on your rank and the choices you fill.
Step 3 — Mock Seat Allotment (if conducted)
AUDOA may publish a mock allotment before the final allotment. This gives you an idea of which seat you may be allocated based on your current choices. You can modify your choices after seeing the mock allotment result before the choice-locking deadline.
Step 4 — Final Seat Allotment
Based on your AUCET 2026 rank, category, and the choices you filled, the system generates a final seat allotment. The seat allotment letter is published on the portal. Check whether the allotted seat matches your preference.
Step 5 — Fee Payment
After allotment, you need to pay the course fee online within the deadline. Fee payment confirms your acceptance of the allotted seat. If you do not pay within the deadline, the allotment stands cancelled.
Step 6 — Certificate Verification and Reporting
After paying the fee, you need to report to the allotted college with original documents for physical verification. Once your documents are verified and found correct, your admission is officially confirmed.
Documents Required for AUCET 2026 Counselling
- AUCET 2026 rank card / score card
- AUCET 2026 admit card
- 10th (SSC) mark sheet and certificate
- 12th (Intermediate / +2) mark sheet and certificate
- UG degree certificate or provisional certificate
- All semester / year mark sheets of graduation
- Caste / category certificate (if applicable, issued by competent authority)
- Income certificate (if applicable, for fee reimbursement)
- Andhra Pradesh residence / domicile certificate
- Transfer certificate from the last institution attended
- Recent passport-size photographs (4-6 copies)
- Aadhaar card / government-issued photo ID
Andhra University may conduct additional rounds of counselling for seats that remain vacant after Phase 1 allotment. Candidates who were not allotted a seat in earlier rounds remain eligible for subsequent rounds.
What After Seat Allotment?
Once you are allotted a seat and have paid the fee, you report to the college on the date specified. The college will verify all your original documents. After successful verification, you are formally admitted to the PG programme. You should also collect the provisional admission letter / ID card from the college on that day.
AUCET 2026 Marks vs Rank
AUCET 2026 marks vs rank helps you estimate what rank you might get based on your score. Since the exam has 100 questions and no negative marking, your score directly equals the number of correct answers. Even 1-2 marks can make a difference in your rank in a competitive exam.
The following table gives an indicative marks vs rank analysis based on previous year trends and the typical number of candidates appearing in AUCET:
| Marks Scored (out of 100) | Expected Rank Range (Indicative) | Admission Prospects |
|---|---|---|
| 90 and above | 1 – 100 | Top programmes at Andhra University campus guaranteed |
| 80 – 89 | 101 – 500 | Good chance for preferred programmes at main campus |
| 70 – 79 | 501 – 1,500 | Most programmes available; popular ones may be competitive |
| 60 – 69 | 1,501 – 3,000 | Seats in affiliated colleges; limited options at main campus |
| 50 – 59 | 3,001 – 5,000+ | Qualifying range; choice of college and programme may be limited |
| Below 50 (General) | Not ranked | Not eligible for counselling |
The rank ranges in the table above are illustrative and based on general trends from previous years. Actual AUCET 2026 ranks depend on the total number of candidates appearing, the difficulty level of the paper, and the distribution of scores. Official ranks will be available with the AUCET 2026 result.
How is AUCET Rank Determined?
Your AUCET 2026 rank is based purely on the marks you score. Higher marks mean a better rank. In case two candidates score the same marks, the tie is broken by comparing their aggregate marks in graduation — the candidate with higher graduation marks gets a better rank. If there is still a tie, the older candidate (by date of birth) gets the higher rank.
Top Colleges Accepting AUCET 2026
AUCET 2026 scores are accepted by Andhra University main campus, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University (Srikakulam), and approximately 148 affiliated colleges spread across North and Central Andhra Pradesh districts including Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, and Guntur.

Preparation Tips for AUCET
AUCET is based on UG-level content. With the right strategy, you can score well and secure a good rank. Here are practical preparation tips for AUCET:
1. Start with the Official Syllabus
Download the official AUCET syllabus from the AUDOA website. The syllabus tells you exactly which topics will be covered. Divide the syllabus into high-priority, medium-priority, and lower-priority topics based on how often they appeared in past papers.
2. Use UG Textbooks as Your Primary Resource
AUCET questions are based on what you studied in your UG programme. Your standard textbooks — the ones your college used — are the best starting point. Don’t jump to advanced materials before you’re strong in the basics.
3. Solve Previous Year Question Papers
Solving AUCET question papers from the last 5 years is the most effective preparation strategy. You will notice repeating topics and question patterns. This also helps you get comfortable with the MCQ format and the time pressure of 90 minutes for 100 questions.
4. Take Regular Mock Tests
Practice full-length mock tests under real exam conditions — 90 minutes, 100 questions, no looking up answers mid-test. After each mock test, review your mistakes and identify weak areas. Time yourself strictly and aim to finish in 80 minutes so you have 10 minutes to review.
5. Attempt All Questions
Since AUCET 2026 has no negative marking, you should attempt all 100 questions. Even if you are not sure about an answer, attempt it — you have a 25% chance of getting it right by guessing (since each question has 4 options). Leaving questions unattempted guarantees zero marks for those questions.
6. Revise Key Formulas and Definitions
For science papers (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), key formulas, laws, and definitions are frequently tested. Make a formula sheet and revise it every few days. For humanities papers, key concepts, theorists’ names, and dates are important.
7. Manage Your Time During the Exam
In the exam, don’t spend more than 60-70 seconds on any one question. If a question seems very hard, skip it and come back later. First answer all the questions you are confident about, then return to the harder ones.
