AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission in pharmacy programmes of Annamalai University must ensure that they fulfil all eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. In case a candidate is found unable to satisfy any of the stated requirements, his application may be liable for rejection. The detailed AU AIMEE 2024 eligibility criteria for different programmes are explained below:

B. Pharm Eligibility

  • The candidates must be Indian nationals.
  • The candidates must be 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2024.
  • The candidates must have passed in each subject of the HSC qualifying exam with minimum eligible marks.
  • The subjects required are:

(Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology) or (Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics with any other subject)

  • The minimum eligible marks in 10+2 exam are as follows:
  1. For OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC Candidates - Minimum of 35% of marks in individual subjects and not less than 40% aggregate marks overall
  2. For SC / SCA / ST Candidates - 35% of marks in individual subjects and not less than 35% aggregate marks overall
  3. A minimum of 35% marks in English
  • For candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu:
  1. Those who have passed Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII in Tamil Nadu can apply without needing to provide the "Nativity Certificate".
  2. Those who have passed any of Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII or their equivalent exam from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply but they will need to provide a copy of the "Nativity Certificate".
  3. All candidates who are children of All India Service Tamil Nadu Cadre Officers are eligible.
  4. Those whose parents are Central Government employees can apply, regardless of their nativity, given that their parents or guardians (if neither parent is alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years at the time of application submission.
  5. Those who are children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognized Institutions who have been employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of application submission can also apply, regardless of their domicile.
  6. Candidates belonging to other states who have studied Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII in Tamil Nadu can also apply without enclosing the "Nativity Certificate".
  • For candidates belonging to other states and who have not studied Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII from Tamil Nadu:
  1. Such candidates can apply however regardless of their category, they will be considered under open competition.
  2. Also, they will be considered only after all Tamil Nadu candidates have been exhausted.

B. Pharm (Lateral Entry) Eligibility

  • The candidates must be Indian nationals.
  • Overseas citizens of India are eligible to apply if registered under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 (Central Act 57 of 1955).
  • The candidate must be 17 years of age as on 31-12-2024.
  • The candidate must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) from Annamalai University or an equivalent university.
  • The candidate must have scored an overall aggregate of not less than 50% marks in the first and second-year exams of D. Pharm.

D. Pharm Eligibility

  • The candidates must be Indian nationals.
  • The candidate must be 17 years of age as on 31-12-2024.
  • Overseas citizens of India are eligible to apply if registered under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 (Central Act 57 of 1955).
  • The candidate must have passed HSC exam or equivalent with the following subjects: Physics and Chemistry, along with Biology (or) Botany and Zoology (or) Mathematics.
  • The candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Mathematics as subjects are also eligible.

M. Pharm Eligibility

  • The candidates must have a B. Pharm degree from Annamalai University or an equivalent university with not less than 50% marks.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/SCA/ST categories need only a pass in the B. Pharm course.
  • The candidates must be 17 years of age as on 31.12.2024.
  • Candidates must have passed HSC exam with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with either Mathematics or Biology or Botany and Zoology.
  • Those with a pass in D. Pharm from an institution that has been approved by the Pharmacy Council of India are also eligible.
  • Candidates belonging to states other than Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply. However, regardless of the category, they will be considered under open competition, after exhausting all Tamil Nadu candidates.

AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Application Process

AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Application Form will be made available online in March, 2024(tentatively). Candidates will have about a month to complete the process of filling the application form. Any updates will be released on the official website and candidates are advised to check in frequently.

Follow the steps mentioned below for registration process:

  • Visit the official website
  • Register with a valid email ID and a self-chosen password.
  • Make the fee paid by any of the available methods.
  • Provide all the requisite details in the online form.
  • Click on "view" button to see the final form and edit any fields, if required.
  • Click on "print" button to take a print out of the completed form.

Sending the Application form to the specified address

Applicants will have to send the completed printed application form along with the required documents and certificates via Speed Post / Registered Post in a Thick Kraft Envelope of size 30 cm x 24 cm with stamps affixed to the value of Rs. 30.

The DD or Bank challan will also have to be included in the envelope in case offline payment has been made. The candidates must remember to write the name of the programme applied for, on top of the envelope and send to below address:

AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Application Fee

The registration fee that the applicants need to pay is Rs. 300. The fees can be paid online via the online gateway. The candidates also have the option to pay the fee offline though either a Demand Draft (DD) or a bank challan.

AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Mode of Payment

The bank challan details will have to be entered while filling the form after the fee has been paid at the university counter. The details will also have to be provided in case of DD. The Demand Draft should be drawn in the favour of “The Registrar, Annamalai University” and must be payable at Chennai.


AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Admit Card

The admit card for AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 will be available for download on the official website a week prior to the date of the examination. Only the candidates who are eligible and have submitted completed application forms along with the specified payment will be able to download the hall ticket.

The merit list for AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 will be announced on the official website as soon as the results are declared. The merit list will be prepared strictly on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance exam.

AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Tie Breaker

In case two or more candidates have obtained equal score, the rank of these candidates will be decided on the basis of the rules mentioned below:

  • Percentage obtained by the candidates in Biology or (Botany and Zoology) in HSC exam.
  • If Biology or (Botany and Zoology) percentage is same, then percentage obtained by the candidates in Chemistry in HSC exam will be considered.
  • If Chemistry percentage is same, then percentage obtained by the candidates in fourth optional subject in HSC exam will be considered.
  • If percentage in optional subject is same, then preference will be given to the older candidate.
  • If age is also exactly same, then computerised random number will be assigned and preference will be given to the higher value.

AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Reservation

There are some seats under AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 that have been reserved for candidates belonging to minority groups and special categories. A candidate must be aware of the reservation policy applicable in case he wants to claim the benefit.

AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Counselling

Students who have qualified the exam by scoring the minimum cut-off marks will be called for the counselling process of AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024.

The counselling process will be conducted online and candidates will be able to exercise their options. The counselling process will begin after the merit list has been announced tentatively in the second week of July 2024.

The candidates will be required to pay a fee of Rs. 2000 (Rs. 500 for SC/SCA/ ST candidates) to participate in the counselling process. This fee can be paid by cash or DD in favour of “The Registrar, Annamalai University” payable at Chennai at the time of counselling.

Important steps in the process of AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2024 Counselling

  • Candidates can choose the course they want admission in and the college they want to attend.
  • The counselling process for differently abled applicants will be held first.
  • The candidates will be called for the process of Counselling on the basis of their merit.
  • Once called, candidates will have to report at the Administrative Office of Annamalai University.
  • Candidates must report at the specified venue on the given date with the necessary documents.
  • In case, the candidate is unable to report for some reason, he must authorise his parents to attend the counselling process.
  • Those candidates who paid the counselling fee and were not allotted any seat in the process will be placed on the waiting list.

Counselling for Special Reservation Categories

Those candidates who want to apply for special reservation categories of seats must first ensure that they satisfy the rules that have been specified for admission process.

Important points to keep in mind about this counselling process are:

  • First, candidates with disability of lower limbs in the range of 50% to 70% will be considered.
  1. If candidates are not available in the specified range, then the candidates with disability of lower limbs in the range of 40% to 50% will be considered.
  • The candidates will need to produce a certificate from the District Medical Board of the area concerned. This Board has been constituted to assess the extent of disability of the candidate.
  1. The format for the certificate will be available on the official website and candidates must produce the certificate in this format only. A certificate in any other format will not be accepted under any circumstance.
  2. The candidate must also ensure that the certificate has been obtained in a period of three months prior to submitting the application form. If obtained earlier, the application of the candidate will be liable for rejection.
  • The candidate who is seeking admission under this Special Reservation Category will be required to produce a full sized photograph that clearly exhibits the deformity.
  • A key point to be noted is that candidates with any other disability other than the locomotor disability of the lower limb will not be considered for admission under this special category.
  • Additionally, the candidate must also ensure that his upper limbs, his vision and his hearing abilities are normal.
