AIIMS PG Result Previous Year Statistics

INI CET has grown steadily since its launch in 2021. The May session (for July intake) consistently sees a larger qualifying pool than the November session (for January intake), because more MBBS graduates complete internship and become eligible by May each year. Looking at May sessions across years, the qualifying pool grew from 45,360 in 2024 to 51,563 in 2026 — a jump of about 14% in two years. This reflects both a growing MBBS graduate cohort entering the PG cycle and an expanding seat matrix as newer AIIMS campuses become fully operational. The November sessions see roughly 30–35% fewer qualifiers than the corresponding May sessions, as fewer candidates are exam-ready within the shorter preparation window that follows internship completion in the second half of the year.

Even with over 51,000 candidates qualifying in May 2026, only 1,581 seats were available for that intake — roughly 1 in 32 qualifiers actually secured a seat. At AIIMS Delhi, the General category closing rank for MD Radiodiagnosis has historically hovered in the single digits, making it one of the most competitive PG medical seats in India.

How to Check AIIMS PG Result 2026

You check your INI CET 2026 result directly at aiimsexams.ac.in. The portal requires three login credentials created at the time of registration: your Registration ID, Registration Unique Code (RUC), and password.

4. Enter your Registration ID, RUC, and password
5. Solve the captcha and click Submit

7. Download and save the PDF; you will need it for every stage of counselling and final admission

AIIMS PG 2026 Scorecard and Merit List

Your AIIMS PG 2026 scorecard is the official document confirming your rank and eligibility for INI CET counselling. You download it as a PDF from aiimsexams.ac.in after the result is published. Keep it throughout the entire admission cycle — you need it at counselling registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and final reporting.

The scorecard contains:

• Name, roll number, and registration ID
• Total marks and overall percentile score
• Overall merit rank (across all categories combined)
• Category rank (your rank within your reserved category, if applicable)
• Qualifying status — Qualified or Not Qualified
• Category and sub-category (UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, Sponsored, Foreign National, etc.)

The merit list is a separate public PDF released alongside scorecards. It lists all qualifying candidates — up to 8 times the total seats — in rank order. For the May 2026 session with 1,581 seats, the merit list covers approximately the top 12,600 ranked candidates. All listed candidates are eligible for counselling, though getting a seat at a specific institute depends entirely on closing ranks after choice filling.

Errors that are not corrected before counselling registration can cause complications on the day you physically report to your allotted institute for document verification.

AIIMS PG 2026 Qualifying Marks

INI CET does not use a fixed marks cutoff. Instead, it uses a percentile-based qualifying threshold: your score is expressed as a percentile relative to all candidates who appeared in the same session, and you qualify if your percentile meets your category’s threshold.

These thresholds have stayed unchanged since INI CET began in 2021. Clearing the percentile cutoff gets you on the merit list, but it does not guarantee a seat. In May 2026, over 51,000 candidates cleared the qualifying mark while only 1,581 seats existed — roughly 1 in 32 qualifiers actually got a seat. The practical competition bar at top INIs is far higher than the qualifying percentile suggests.

The qualifying percentile also determines your eligibility for counselling, not your actual admission rank. Your overall merit rank — shown on your scorecard — is what AIIMS uses to allot seats during counselling. Two candidates can both qualify at the 50th percentile but have very different merit ranks depending on how everyone else scored in that session.

What After AIIMS PG Result 2026?

Once you are on the merit list, the next step is centralised counselling at aiimsexams.ac.in. This is how seats are assigned across all 23 INIs. You register for counselling, fill your institute and specialty preferences in rank order, and seats are allotted across multiple rounds.

Counselling for the May 2026 session is fully complete. All 1,581 seats for the July 2026 intake have been allotted and candidates have reported to their institutes. If you are targeting the November 2026 session, counselling begins in November 2026 after the result on November 7.
