MBA in Disaster Management covers a mix of thematic and issue-based aspects of the subject such as relationships between environment, livelihood and disasters.
The course is designed to build in enrolled students the requisite skills for intervention in disasters, their prevention, related disciplines such as logistics and supply chain management, public health, information and communication and peace, among others.

Admission to the course is based either on performance in a relevant entrance test and the following round of interview, or in most cases, direct admission is offered too.

Group Discussion and Interview - These stages are held between February and March for most institutes. GDs and PIs are undertaken to assess the candidate’s personality traits such as Group Behaviour, Awareness, Communication skills, Reasoning ability, Flexibility, Leadership, Assertiveness, Initiative, Confidence, Creativity, to name a few.
An interview can be broadly categorized into Personal Interview and Group Interview. The Personal Interview assesses the candidates’ academics, goals and self-awareness, while the Group Interview assesses the candidate’s analytical ability.
Eligibility for MBA in Disaster Management
For applying to the course, aspiring candidates need to have a B.E./ B. Tech qualification (10+2+3 pattern) in any discipline from a recognized/ accredited institute, with a minimum aggregate score of 55% (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates).
Students who have appeared in their final year examination of a relevant Bachelor’s degree program, and are yet to pass its final year examination, are also welcome to apply, subject to a successful completion of their Bachelor’s degree program/ graduation within a certain time period.
